Only A Couple of Days Left

There are only a couple of days left to join the Garden Fairy challenge at Lunagirl Moonbeans.  Here are a couple of more ways you can use fairies in your projects.  I do hope you will take time to enter as Karen has a wonderful prize for the random selected winner.

This is a tag I made using one of the techniques Carolyn Dube uses in her Use
I love Your Words workshop.  It is a method of using various letters on a tag and then glazing with polymer medium  (gloss)  I then added the fairy from Lunagirl and glazed over it.

I love using black and white as a background.  This time I made a Lunagirl fairy and put her inside a Cheery Lynn die.

Lunagirl's Fairy Challenge

Lunaagirl is still having a Garden Fairy Challenge.  We would love for you to come over and view the inspirations of the Moonbeans Design Team.  Here is my latest inspirational creation. I used images from three collage sheets and I was fortunate in that I printed the images at the size I needed the first time.  This was really a fun card to make and I hope you like.
If you have a chance enter the challenge.  You still have five days so look around and see if you see any fairies.

Challenge #63 - "From the Past"

You will certainly love this challenge.  It is "From the Past".  For this one  you can  use any type of image you want as long as they look "old" or from a previous era.  Most of the Design Team is using images that are patriotic since we are getting ready to celebrate the 4th of July.  Here is  what they created to give you some inspiration.
Vicki
I took a patriotic image from my sponsor Vintage Images Craft  I placed it on  red and blue mats.  The stars are actually a plastic red, blue and silver necklace I got at Dollar Tree and then cut three from it to resemble brads.  These help to give the card a little bling.
Michele
This happy flag-waving lady made me smile and think about 4th of July parades, fireworks and fun.  I added bright celebratory papers and borders and a hand written sentiment to complete the piece.
A sweet image from our sponsor takes  center stage on my vintage card, which was created using a computer craft program
Krisha
This adorable image of Betsy Ross looked like she was dreaming about her flag.  I trimmed her out and layered her onto a large patriotic stamp from Posh Impressions, stamped with StazOn Timer Brown for a more antique and dreamy impression.
I fell in love with this Vintage Wedding image from Vintage Image Craft and decided to use it on an ATC. Ribbons, pearls, and a rose lends a final touch.
Barb
I chose this vintage patriotic image from Vintage Image Craft, I thought it was just adorable. I am Canadian and we celebrate July 1st for Canada Day but when we are at the cottage for the long  weekend there are some Americans that rent the cottage across from us, so this will be their Independence Day card. I hope they like it.
 Petra
Isn't this image from our sponsor Vintage Image Craft just lovely and so much speaking of the past? When I saw it, I couldn't resist. It seemed to shout for fabrics and lace. After printing the image on fabric I layered it on calico and embellished the image with lace, musical note paper, ribbon and vintage buttons.

I am so pleased to have Vintage Image Craft as my sponsor for this challenge.  If you would go and visit their store, you wil see some beautiful images from the past.  They are sharp and colored beautifully.  I am sure you can find something that pleases you and will meet your needs.  Thanks to them for this sponsorship.

I'm Hooked!

Carolyn Dube is a wonderful Gelli Plate artist and she has gotten me hooked on the Gelli Plate and multi-media..  Forgive me Carolyn, as I have tried to copy one of your wonderful creations you made in a video.  Here is my rendition below.

I left my handwriting on this one as you can actually read it.  It was done on a large piece of watercolor paper and it fit into the scanner exactly so I couldn't put a background to it.  To give the piece some bling I added Stickles to each of the flower centers.  The flowers were air-brushed with Copic markers using a Crafter's Workshop stencil.

Just Some Line's Challenge

Just Some Lines is continuing with "Anything Goes" as the challenge theme. The only requirement is to use a Just Some Lines digital. I am continuing to make patriotic cards for July 4th. These will be sent to the military.

Drunken Stampers Challenge

Drunken Stampers is still having challenges about movies.  This week it is "Edward Scissorhands".  Well, as usual, I haven't seeno  the movie so I have no idea what it is about  This little guy from Octopode Factory does not have scissor hands, but he is on the weird side.  Therefore, I thought he might do.  I do love the images from Octopode Factory.

A New Challenge at Lunagirl Moonbeans

I am a little late announcing that Lunagirl Moonbeans has begun a new challenge.  This is the 4th challenge and we are so excited that each week there is an increasing number of entries.  This time we have the theme "Garden Fairy".  I hope if you haven't entered one of the Lunagirl challenges you will do so this time.  Here is my first piece of inspiration for the challenge.
I took one of the images from the 1929 sheet and one of the lovely butterfly wings from another collage sheet and combined them to make my little. fairy.  The background designer paper puts her in a garden and two  large blue stones gives the card some bling.  The 3D sentiment with a butterfly on which I added a tiny blue ston finishes the card.

"You're Sweet"

My this weather is getting hot and now the ice cream man is coming around the neighborhood ringing his bell.  It's time for sweets.  The Design Team is reminding you that the theme is in its second week and you need to show off all the sweets you desire whether it be cupcakes, ice cream, cake or just plain chocolate.  (How can chocolate be just plain!)  In any case we would love to see "You're Sweet" creations.

Vicki
During the summer I belong to a card group which plays Double Canasta and we always manage to have something sweet.  Thus the playing card and the cupcake connection.  The border is a border sticker that I have had for a long time.  The image, of course, is from Far Far Hill.
Petra
I just love the background collage from Far Far Hill. It contains all ingredients for a great party and celebration .... cupcakes, sweeties, hot chocolate ...... what else can you wish for (lol) I layered the background on a scalloped white card and added a stamped sentiment which I think is so fitting!

Michele
These cupcake digis from Far Far Hill look delicious! I cut two of them out and arranged them with papers, tissue tape and a flower.  I made the sentiment on my computer.  One more week for calorie -free play time...
Krisha
Using a yummy cup cake image from Far Far Hill I made a large birthday tag. Background was created with pink Gelatos and Stampers Anonymous images stamped with brown ink. Edges were aged with TH Vintage Photo and Wild Honey. Ribbons, from my stash were added as a finishing touch.

I had real fun using our sponsors images of these delicious cup cakes. Both cards were made using  a computer craft program. called My Craft Studio.
Barbara
I used the Cupcake images from Far Far Hill, you will have to check out my blog to see the ones on the inside of the Gatefold card with a twist. The sentiment just seemed perfect. I love the  background paper, its digi paper and so gorgeous. I added the ribbon and stickles to the cupcake image.
Sharon
For my "You're So Sweet" Card I've used a great little Garden Fairy image from Angie Delarie and made a Herringbone Style Background with offcuts of coloured card. I added a little "Made Wiith Love" charm with the fibres at the spine

I enjoyed making my cards with the yummy images from Far Far Hill. I made my own stickers by printing the images onto sticker paper and then cutting them out. These stickers I added to my cards once I have added the DP panel. The DP's are also from Far Far Hill! A touch of glitter adds some sparkle. I'll add a sentiment when I use my card - it can be used for many occasions!

Just Some Lines Challenge

Just Some Lines is having their "Anything Goes" challenge and I am pushing the calendar just a little by making a patriotic card.  I have so much red, white and blue designer paper and I want to use some of it up; therefore, I will make a couple of patriotic cards for my inspiration.  Also, I have a purpose for these cards.  They will be sent to some military who are serving abroad.

Gelli Plate Designs

Here are three art journal pages I recently created.  Which of the three do you like?   I really like the third one, but my hubby said he thought it didn't look finished.   I am wondering if so much white space should be left.   What do you think?

Challenge #62 - "You're Sweet"

My challenge for the next two weeks is "You're Sweet".  This is a very easy challenge so dig through your stash and see what you can come up with following this sweet theme.
Vicki
My card is uses one of Far Far Hill's cupcake images.  I decided to make the card fairly plain letting the image be the focal point.  It is hard to tell from the scan, but the white cardstock behind the image is glossy and has been embossed and lightly highlighted.
Petra
I don't know how you feel about cupcakes but I LOVE them ... and the ones from pour sponsor Far Far Hill are just too yummy and tempting! I cut it out and layered it on patterend paper, doily and lace. A little bit of Stickles and some little blings completed the card.

I found these un-used cake  toppers in my stash. Layered them up and realy wished I had the real thing on the table to eat.

Krisha
One layer card using House Mouse stamp, colored with Prisma pencils and OMS, and markers.

Michele
I know a lot of people who think it is fine to have your dessert first so this is a tribute to them.  And this yummy looking cupcake from Far Far Hill clearly has all the main food groups in it so it can't be wrong to go right for this treat! This will be a fun challenge because you can play with sweets but not get any calories.  Hope you can join us.

Bathing Beauties

Here are some additional cards and a tag using the theme "Bathing Beauties" from Lunagirl Moonbeans. Their challenge will end in seven and one-half days, so look through your stash of images and stamps for some bathing beauties and enter.  You still have plenty of time and the winner will receive one of the wonderful collage sheets from Karen's site.
This card was very simple to make.  I let my designer paper do all the work. It show the ocean in the background, the sand and a windbreaker fence on the beach.  My sentiment is "Laughter is an instant vacation" by Melton Berle.  I found it in the Quote Garden on the net.  I like the simplicity of this card.
This card shows more of my personality.  The background is an old paperback book on which I cleaned my brayer of acrylic paint when I used my Gelli Plate.  I then tore the edges of my Lunagirl image, distress the edges with cranberry ink.  Finally I added the little acrylic fish around and on top of her to give you the feel that she was underwater.

Finally, my tag uses a Lunagirl image also  The blue background on the tag is another piece of a book page that I used to clean my brayer.  This time I printed my image and the lottery sheet on grey paper to give it a little of distressed look.  I torn the image out, but did not do any highlighting or distressing since the grey color came forward on the tear.  A couple of stones finishes the tag.

Just Some Lines' Challenge

Just Some Lines is having "Anything Goes" as the theme for a while.  You can create anything you wish with any theme as long as your are using a Just Some Lines image.  I really like this digi of a boy fishing.  It would be prefect for a Father's Day card.  I colored the image with Copic markers.   I used the polka dot background to emphasize the childish feel to the card.  I can remember watch the fish coming right up to my line, but never biting.

Drop on over to the Just Some Lines website and enter their challenge.

My Best Friend's Wedding

Drunken Stampers is having another challenge.  This time the theme is My Best Friend's Wedding.  My card uses an image from Just Some Lines and a diecut from Cheery Lynn Designs.  All the themes for the past couple of months have been movies.
If you have a chance visit the blog and join the challenge.

A Rainbow Gelli Print

This time I have made an art journal page with the acrylic paint from my Gelli Plate that looks like a rainbow.  However, this was so easy that I am embarrassed.  I made the background paper just by cleaning my brayer after using it on my Gelli Plate.  I love the way it turned out.

Gelli Green

Here is another art page made with my Gelli Plate.  I think this will make an amazing background for a card.

Another Art Journal Page

I haven't had very much time to work with my Gelli Plate lately, but here is a page I made not too long ago.  I am pleased with how it turned out.  I think the colors of the bridge and the building pop fairly well.
I can't wait until I have a chance to pull that Gelli Plate out again and get messy.

I am linking this to Carolyn Dube's June Gelli Party at a Colorful Journey.

A Little Raper Piecing

Here is my entry in Crafter's Digital Art Center's (CDAC"s) Progressive challenge.  It uses the umbrella image from Nana Vic Digitals.   I haven't done any paper piecing lately so I thought this would be the perfect image to do it on.  The sentiment is from Quote Garden and I really like what it says.  If you haven't been to the CDAC site lately, you are missing some great challenges.

Let's Go to the Beach!

Let's go to the beach as Lunagirl's Moonbeans has created some projects following the theme "Bathing Beauties".  Below are a couple of cards I created as pieces of inspiration for the Lunagirl theme.
For my first card I torn the bathing beauty image from Lunagirl Moonbeams and placed it on some designer paper that looked like a beach with sand at a fence.  As embellishment I used a large seashell sticker and a sentiment on an acrylic piece.
This next card uses designer paper that looks like water.  The wave, seashells and pearls came from an embellishment kt.  Also included are the water bubbles.  Again an acrylic sentiment finishes off the card.  Below is the challenge announcement you will find on Lunagirl Moonbeams.  Now hurry over and join the challenge.  Need a shortcut?  Just click on announcement below.
