Tags of Christmas

During the month of December the members of the Gecko Galz Design Team are creating Christmas tags.  Today is my day.

I knew I wanted a shiny background for my Gecko Galz angel tag so I cut a box that at one time held a bottle of perfume.  After cutting it into the shape of a tag, I attached an angel on  top of a piece of lace which has been attached at the bottom of the tag.
For this tag I covered a shopping tag with Christmas designer paper that had snowflakes on it.   I attached the two Gecko Galz images and stamped a greeting.  A piece of ribbon with snowflakes on it competes this tag.

I again covered a regular tag with designer paper..  I added a Christmas sticker and cut the angel image and greeting apart and used only part of the greeting.

Please go and visit Gecko Galz Scrapbooking website to see all the sample tags from the other team members and learn about all the challenges and giveaways.

HAVE A MERRY CHRISTMAS!

June Theme

The June Customer Challenge for Gecko Galz is "Man O Man".  Won't you join in?  This is a tiny example of some of their masculine images.

This time I decided to play a little with the freebie by putting her on a watercolor tag.
Here is your free stamp for June from Gecko Galz.

    My Day at Gecko Galz

Today I am being featured on Gecko Galz Scrapbooking website.  Here are a couple of samples I made  using images from their store.

I really like this card and had someone picked out who would receive it, but my daughter's dog got hold of it and tore it apart.  I manage to salvage all of it with the exception of the background designer paper.  I was going to put it back together,  but I do not have any more of that designer  paper. Oh well, I won't let him in my workroom any more!

The lacey part under the image is a recycled piece of an old commercial card.

The tag uses one of the jewel domino images.  The bottom of the tag looks like part of it is missing.  It is not really as I made my tag from a paper I made using the Gelli plate and it just happens that  there is a white area at the bottom.  Also for an embellishment I used 4 rows of rhinestones.    The black and white spray is a piece of chipboard.  The bow at the top is silver and seems to pick up a reflection of the purple acrylic paint.

Thanks to the generosity of Gecko Galz here is a free image for you.

    Gecko Galz Today

Today is my day at Gecko Galz;  With packing and moving I have been only able to make a couple of things this time.  One reason is exhaustion and the other not being able to find all my supplies.

The background on both of these tags is watercolor powder.  This is something fairly new for me and I love using it.

I put a little humor with this  tag.  I gave the girl an egg body and the flowers seem to be in her hair.  I decided to leave her face back and white so it would stand out from the colorful egg body..

Below is the freebie that Gecko Galz has graciously given me to share.  Enjoy

    Twenty-four Tags

Gecko Galz has a number of creative activities that you can participate in.  First is the Customer Challenge.  This month the challenge theme is "Far Away Places'  Make sure you go to the Facebook page and enter. plus see what others have entered.  Below are a couple of samples I have made.
This card identifies itself with Paris, France while the one below has an Asian influence.
Another thing going on at Gecko Galz is the Twenty-four of Christmas.  Also this is part of our Christmas spectacular where each week we will be giving a lucky customer a free Christmas present just for shopping with Gecko Galz (just join the Gecko Galz mailing list to find out what the giveaway is for each week). But there is more  every day when we feature a new tag write us and let us know who made the tag and the first 10 people will get a free gift (we will email you with the details if you are one of the winners). Then at the end of the week we will have two Super drawings, the first is for customers who made a purchase that week, and the second for all those who responded that week to the tags

My tag was made by putting the tag image on top of a larger tag made from a piece of gold glitter paper.  The image was colored with Copic markers and the ribbon on the package is a heavy coat of Stickles.  Santa and the small package in the corner are stickers.
Here is another card made using the sweet little girl image from Gecko Galz.  The scene through the window is from an old commercial card.  The tree and toys are stickers.

Finally I have a free image for you thanks to the generosity of Gecko Galz.  I hope you enjoy using it.

In case you don't come back to my site again before Christmas, I wish everyone a very Merry Christmas.

    A New Challenge Begins

A new challenge is beginning at Lunagirl.  I began the month by making a tag.  I love using text to my tags and cards so I ripped some small pieces from an old textbook.  On top I put one of Lunagirl's great gothic images.

    Challenge 115- "Marie Antoinette"

Challenge # 115 "Marie Antoinette" begins today.  This is one of the more popular themes for a challenge on the net.  I hope you will look through your stash and make something that will be compatible with the theme.

    Vicki
I love making tags and have many in my studio, but I tend to let them sit around and not use them in cards or on journal pages.  This particular tag has a little bit of everything on it.  Beside the wonderful Lunagirl image, there is the use of watercolor, diecuts, stickers, and an old book page..  In addition I used text and a little scribble handwriting.
    Hazel
I used one of the beautiful images from Lunagirl's Marie Digital Collage sheet, using two pieces of K & Co paper that have been in my box for ages. The sentiment panel was from Kanban and the flowers from Hobbycraft.

    Barbara
The first week of the challenge Marie Antoinette I made an ATC (artist trading card) for the base I used a Fleur dis lis rectangle die and layered the image on gold paper, added a couple of pearls and coloured the flowers and leaves with spica glitter pens. We had a holiday on Wednesday July 1st it was Canada Day and it totally threw my schedule off having a holiday in the middle of the week. For my U.S. followers have a wonderful 4th of July.
    Karla
For the first week of Marie Antoinette, I made a card using an image kindly supplied by our s
ponsor Lunagirl and it is called Queen Marie Antoinette in Gilt Frames. It is such a vintage beauty! I layered it on a scrapbook paper and on a blue cardstock. I also added some decorating paste flowers and pearls. When I think of Marie Antoinette, refinement and graceful approach to life crosses my mind and those things are still important. Have a creative weekend! Hope you continue playing along with us!
    Michele
For the first week of this challenge I chose to make a tag.  I started with some designer paper from my stash which was already covered in French script.  I gave the paper a light going over with watered down white gesso.  Next I selected an image from the "Marie" collage sheet by Lunagirl and cut it out.  I also added a scene from the Lunagirl "dreams of Paris" collage sheet and a compass from the Lunagirl "winds and roses" collage sheet.  I arranged and adhered these pieces, distressed the edges and also added a prima flower, some washi tape and a fleur de lis brad.
Don't forget that this challenge is being sponsored by Lunagirl and it is in conjunction with their challenge.  You may use the same entry on both sites.  You have twice as much chance to win some gorgeous images at Lunagirl.

    Christmas Tag

I have made a number of Christmas Tag.  This  tag uses a cover on a throw-away food tray as the base of the tag.  The silver piece was perfect for a shiny background.  The blue is a piece of a Gelli print that I had made previously   The images are from Gecko Galz.  Two rows of silver ric-rack finished off the tag.

"Moon Goddess" is the Lunagirls Theme

Lunagirl has just started her Moon Goddess theme.  Drop over and see what the other Design Team members have created.
I created a tag for the challenge using a Lunagirl image on a background made with a Gelli Plate.  A tiny star was added to the tip of the moon.  Small "stars" were added to the background with drops of Stickles.  A bow made from an elastic cord completes the tag.

    Lunagirl Challenge

Here is another challenge you can enter if the one you enter in my challenge if it has the theme "Fairyland".  This is the theme for the Lunagirl Moonbeams the next two weeks.  Here is my inspirational piece I created for the challenge.
I made the background for this tag by using a medallion stamp stamped in three shades of green.  a piece of lace was placed down the side and three bling stones where placed in the center of the flowers.  A butterfly cut from a old greeting card finishes the tag

Let's Hear It For the Boys!

"Let's Hear It For the Boys!" is the theme at Lunagirl this week.  Drop over and see what the Design Team has created for the theme and I am sure you will want to enter the challenge.
This is the tag I made for the challenge.  I haven't made many tags lately.  I used a page out of an old paperback book as the base of my tag.  The shinny cooper-looking piece of cardstock down the  left side is actually from an old greeting card.  The Lunagirl image was slipped under a wrapping of twine which I also tied into a bow.  The oval cooper piece at the top is a medallion that had been smashed in a coin-smashing machine.  The tag as a whole has that vintage look.

Don't forget to enter the challenge---boys.!

    Lunagirl's Challenge

I have been out of town since Lunagirl began her challenge "Fans and Flowers".  Her challenge ends this coming weekend so you have almost a whole week to make an entry.  Since I wasn't blessed to a fast internet, I am posting my two samples below.
My card has a vintage feel.  I superimposed a bouquet of flowers over the fan which was placed on a backing of two different types of cardstock.   The sentiment is a piece of chipboard found in my stash.
My tag has a background which I learned to do at the Stampaway 2014 in Cincinnati last week using pastels.  The images are from Lunagirl and I placed some flowers in the hand of the main image.  The two flourishes are stickers.  The main image is slightly off the tag, and is placed on dimensionals.

    Second Week for "Angel Wings"

We are beginning the second week of the challenge theme "Angel Wings".  Don't forget you can enter anything as long as there is a wing to be seen.  Also, don't forget that there are numerous types of wings.
    Vicki
This tag was made with slick cardstock.  I embossed it and then colored with watercolors.  Surprisingly, it took the watercolors.  Afterwards, I used a Lunagirl  digital image and added a wing,  Finally I stenciled the word "Believe" in acrylic paint.  I had to wait for all coloring to dry before continuing.

    Michele
Here is another card full of delightful angel wings.  I used a Judikins angel stamp and stamped it with the "depth of field" technique from Technique Junkies.  I added a dragonfly, a quote printed from my computer and some little flourishes.  One more week to bring your angels out to play!

    Krisha
I die cut the 2 red and 2 white shapes, and glued the red ones together.  I wanted a little sparkle but not real glittery, so I used a tinseled red embossing powder.  I had stamped the images on the white before using the die, otherwise I would never get it centered...LOL  This ornament is double sided, so two images were colored with Prisma colored pencils then each side of the red die cut received an image.  The holly was also added to both sides, and that may be why it isn't hanging straight.  Oh well it's for my tree and I'll deal with it later.  I added some beads and a tiny red bell to the bottom.  I in the dangling mood this year......LOL

    Barbara
For my second week I had this cute image already coloured in my "stash box" it is Tilda from Magnolia Stamps. I followed a sketch from Seems a Little Sketchy and used a couple of scraps of patterned paper. The background patterned paper is from a DCWV Asian stack pad. I then added 6 tiny mauve pearls and stickles to Tilda's wings.
The background paper is My Mind's Eye Lost & Found Christmas, on to which I stamped the Tin Can Mail angels stamp inked with Adirondack currant, adding a forgotten flower and a few prima spacers.
A tag using a cute angel freebie from Michelle Perkett Studio, our generous sponsor.
I kept it simple with minimal colouring and adding glitter. Metallic pastels and large confetti carries the cream and gold theme through.

    Petra
This adorable angel with its golden sparkle wings sits on a little doily and a tea-dyed and stamped tag. Final embellishments are some ribbons and little blings.

I am pleased to have Michelle Perkett as my sponsor for this challenge.  Please visit Michele's site and see all the beautiful images.

To enter, click on the Current Challenge in my sidebar and you will go directly to the Inlinkz as I have posted a number of times since the challenge announcement.  Want to know what is coming up?  Look on my sidebar for the upcoming challenges.

    Challenge #73-""Angel Wings"

I look forward to having a number of entries this week as the challenge is "Angel Wings".  You may do anything  you wish as long as you show wings (or a wing) on your entry.

    Vicki
I decided to make  a tag for the first week of this challenge.  The background is airbrushed with Copic Markers.  The cute little girl with wings is by B-Line stamps.  She seems to be looking for her wings when they are actually on her back.  This is something I seem to do all the time.  I look for something that is right where it is suppose to be.

    Barbara
I had no idea what to do for the challenge but had this image already coloured in my stash, I also found the believe metal tag in my stash. The background is a butterfly embossing folder. I then added some stickles to the wings. This will make a nice surprise for my friend that is going through Chemo.
    Petra
Angle wings ... truly tiny but very sparkly for a Cameo Lady. It is layered on patterend paper and lace adorned with a Mulberry flower and a little metal charm.
    Michele
I love working with angels and wings so this challenge is a wonderful one for me.  I started with cardstock which I'd spritzed with watercolor inks.  Then I used a Technique Junkies newsletter tutorial technique called "washi weave."  My stamp is from the Character Constructions company and the quote is something i typed and printed then tore and distressed.  I added a few other goodies to round things out.  I hope you will be inspired to join this challenge.
    Krisha

    Hazel

I stamped an Anita angel stamp twice on the sheet music background. The Rubber Stampede 'angel collage' was stamped separated with the edges torn. All colouring with copics.

I am really thrilled to have Michelle Perkett as the sponsor of this challenge.  She creates some beautiful images.  Take a look and see what she has to offer.
