Guest Designer Kati Atanasova

Below you will find a short bio from my Guest Designer who was recently chosen.  She will be creating projects with the Design Team members for at least the next two weeks.  Let's give Kati a warm welcome.

My name is Kati Atanasova, but my craft friends call me Kat. I live in Bulgaria and work as a Treasury Manager in a big international company. Being crafty is my hobby, and also my way to escape from the busy life. I forget everything when I sit on my working table and start making something with my hands.

I craft usually at night when my kids sleep and the house is quiet and dark. It is not easy to wake up early in the morning and to go at work, but it is worth.
I have two blogs – one is my “home” where I share my works, mainly cards and the other is for lessons and free resources for beginners in crafting.
I am not fan of die cuts, but I am fond of stamping and stencils, also big distress holic . I love all styles of stamping, but coloring of people is not my best side. I am still learning. I love to make mix media art, with no rules, just beautiful colors and clever, funny sentiments.
This month the main focus of my craft work will be the new adventure called art journal and of course a lot of Christmas cards and small gifts for my friends and family.

Guest Designer

I am thrilled to announce that The Cheerful Stamp Pad will have a Guest Designer for the next two weeks.  She is Julie Odil.  Her first project will be this weekend.  Give Julie a warm welcome by leaving comments and going to her blog

Guest Designer Julie Odil

Julie Odil

Hello everyone, my name is Julie, and I’m so excited to be a guest designer for The Cheerful Stamp Pad!  I absolutely love to stamp, and this fits my creative niche perfectly! I’ve always been creative – I play many instruments, like to write, and have been crafty my whole life.  I began scrapbooking about 8 years ago and cardmaking about 4 years ago, but things really took off when I began my blog just over 2 years ago.  It was a life changing experience.  I can’t believe how much fun I’ve had and how many friends I’ve made through my blog. I’d love it if you’d stop by for a visit: http://muddypawsinkyfingers.blogspot.com/
Here is a recent card I made that I really like and I am looking forward to participating with the other Design Team members the next two weeks.

Guest Designer

Hello everyone!  I am excited to say that I am one of the Guest Designers at Craftting by Design.  They are having a challenge now being sponsored by Lunagirl which lasts until April 25.  This is the card I posted.
I used one of the labels by Lunagirlk and printed it three times and cut it apart so I could put them in layers using dimensional dots.  The background was made with spray webbing.  Gold cording finishes the card.

Challenge #84- "Use Three Different Papers"

This challenge is a little different from my others.  To enter you must use three different designer papers / cardstock.  There is no theme; there are no particular images you have to use; and you may create anything you wish.  I am the sponsor this time.  The winner of this challenge will have a two-week Guest Designer Spot.  It is open to beginners as well as advance crafters.  So have fun.

Below are some creations of the Design Team.
Vicki
My card is also for the Lunagirl Moonbeams challenge, Victoria Spring, as it uses a Lunagirl image.
Karla
For the first week of Use Three Different Designer Papers" Guest Designer Spot", I used a salmon scrap paper from a Brazilian designer called Toke e Crie. I don’t know why it seems to be pink in the photo. I also used a green Victorian ornate pattern paper from Shabby Princess and the striped paper is from Kim Broedelet. The other elements are from my stash. My simple card is for my mother. It is her birthday. She’s going to be 72. You can see inside the card below. I haven’t written anything yet but guess what I will write. Have a great week ahead

I based my card on the sketch given for Freshly made sketches 131 using three different design papers from my offcuts box (always trying to use some up) - I also matted the embossed panel on to a piece of patterned card, but that's so minimal that I haven't counted that in my three papers! I inked the Papermania Easter stamp with stazon cactus green and added a few daises - there are little embossed flowers on the panel, but I thought it would be good to have daisies to match the ones added to the sentiment stamp.
Barbara
For this challenge there isn't a sponsor but you could win a Guest Designer's spot for two weeks on the Cheerful Stamp Pad.The challenge is to use three patterned papers on your project. I used a Lacy Sunshine image Bubbles Bath, isn't she adorable in her daffodil bath tub. I used 4 designer papers, the base is Daffodil Delight and I used 4 because I wanted to use up a few scraps and make banners. I bought a few more copics at Scrapfest and wanted to play with them, I love turquoise and had to use it somewhere on my card. Talking  and asking questions of a "copic guru"at scrapfest Kitchener I learned quite a bit about copics and how they work so now it's just practice.

Michele
Lately I've been kind of obsessed with making ATCs and I liked the challenge of fitting three distinct designer papers on a small surface.  I picked bright and fun papers to highlight this delightful vintage lady clown image from Gecko Galz.
Petra
Papers from October Afternoon, Dovecraft and K&Company make a great combination for a card with the best wishes. A little girl from Birdie Brown coloured with Copics and colouring pensils, some half pearls and a stamped sentiment are the perfect additions.

This challenge is being sponsored by The Cheerful Stamp Pad and the winner of the challenge has a two-week Guest Designer Spot!

Second Post by GD

Here is a second post by our Guest Designer this week Vee Cassidy.  She uses another image from Kenny K Downloads, my sponsor this week.  If you haven't entered the challenge,  you have a couple of days left to enter.  Just scroll below to the challenge announcement..
I coloured this super image using Promarker alcohol pens and cut with a spellbinders label, I left her feet outside the cutting edge for effect and inked the edges with Forest Moss Distress Ink. The layer is K&Co Speciality Scrapbook Paper which has a lovely flittered surface, I rounded the corners and inked the edges with Antique Linen Distress Ink. Everything is mounted onto and A5 shaped, white silk art card. The edges are inked in Forest Moss. The embellishments are a large fabric flower trimmed and a string (twine) bow with an embroidered flower for centre. The flowers are from the Funkie Junkie Boutique.

Challenge Reminder and Guest Designer

From time to time I will have a Guest Designer.  This not only gives my blog more variety and interest, but also gives another crafter exposure.  My GD this week is Vee Cassidy.  Below she tells us a little about herself and gives her inspiration along with the DT  for the current challenge "Work is Good".  If you haven't entered yet, you have until next Sunday midnight CDT.

Hello, I am Vee (short for Veronica) Cassidy. I live on the outskirts of Glasgow in Scotland, UK. I am 55 and have two sons, 36 and 26, who are both grown and flown.  They both still live in Scotland and my current babies are two little cats, Lenny and Minnie, who adopted me almost three years ago after they were rescued by Cats Protection (Glasgow) from a really appalling situation.
I have loved Arts and Crafts ever since I could hold a crayon!   Some of my earliest memories are hoarding cellophane and foil and cutting up cardboard boxes to make dimensional things like cityscapes and scenes. I was not into dolls or it would have been dolls houses I suppose! I was not allowed to continue with Art at school and was pushed into what was termed more “academic” courses! But kept creative with sewing, knitting, crochet, home decor and baking especially when my sons were younger.
When I had to take early retirement a few years ago owing to severe, permanent health issues, Art and Crafts provided an escape. I am not always able to undertake as many opportunities as offered owing to limits of health but the crafting community is so supportive and really keeps me going, especially as I am often housebound.

I used the  Firefighter by Kenny K
I coloured this fab image with Promarker alcohol pens and cut it out with a Spellbinders label die, and mounted onto an A5 pearl blue card blank made from an A4 sheet of card from stash. I then used Tim Holtz tissue tape  to frame the image and added string (twine) with a knot. I added Tim Holtz metal gear and brad for embellishment.

Sharon
This week I've used an image from Guylou and new digital patterned papers From Gecko Galz along with the layout from Tuesday Morning Sketches to make this "Gardeners" card! Part of my work involves gardening so I couldn't resist making this!

Michele
These Kenny K images are a hoot!  I pencil colored the police officer digi and layered him over a torn piece of highway map and some designer paper.  I added the "This Affects You" stamp (100 proof press) and a star I cut out of some additional designer paper.

Krisha
My new dish towels...Thanks Kenny K!!
I worked the image through Printshop, then printed it on transfer paper, then ironed onto the dish towel.  I used an Inkadinkado "Hello" with StazOn ink. These are photos of then hanging on the stove!

Petra
Well, who says only men can do DIY? Girl power with one of KennyKs brilliant digital stamps coloured with Copics and layered on Kraft card and printed paper. Letter stickers and a ruler ribbon are the finishing touches for the tag. Let's do it!

The Business Woman is doing her bit in the office this week. She is wearing her silver-gray office suit but added some fun colour with her accessories. I put her on an aqua panel that matches her shoes and a silver layer gives some more contrast. The background collage was created with pictures from an advertising booklet, a quick & fun way to create a card that suits the recipient. I hope that you are inspired to join this fun challenge.

Special Guest Artist

I am thrilled to announce that my special guest for the next two weeks is Valerie-Jael Tups. I am pleased that she accepted my invitation as she creates beautiful works of art.  You will love seeing what she creats.. Below is a little information about her.
Valerie - Guest Artist
I am a retired school teacher. I was born and brought up in London, and studied in Lincoln, Nottingham and London. I have been living in Germany since 1972, although I often feel homesick for my home town.

I spend most of my days painting and crafting, but things like h*******k and I*****g are not quite my thing.

I love stamping, distressing, making mixed media pieces, in general getting sticky and messy.

As a teaser for Vicki's next challenge coming out on Monday I have made a sneak peek.  You will have to come back Monday and see the whole creation.

Other things I have made recently are for example this family canvas
Or this dressform tag. Other things are on my blog, http://bastelmania-craftattack.blogspot.com/

I have used different elements for decorating, as I wanted to give a fairy tale atmosphere - trees flowers, Hänsel and Gretel, Little Red Riding Hood, owls and birds and butterflies. The trees - made with the TH die cut, have been embossed in copper and silver, and divided up over the tags, as has the *wicked wolf*.

Krisha, finishes up her Guest Designer time with the following post and her last card gives us a hint of the next challenge.

After cleaning and sorting I got busy and created four new cards. The first two will qualify for the Gingersnaps GC67 challenge. The challenge is three colors: pumpkin, eggplant and avocado.
The next card is just an Autumn card where I was just trying different things and was happy with the results. My So Thankful for You also qualifies for a Ginger Snap challenge: Only one stamp.  I love sunflowers and this background print is one of my favorites
Hope you enjoyed my creative progress for the day.

Guest Designer

The Cheerful Stamp Pad is pleased to announce its first Guest Designer.  She is LaCretia Ogle.  Below is a little about. her.
LaCreatia Ogle

I think I was born with a crayon in my hand. I have been drawing, painting, coloring, cutting, gluing and creating things as long as I can remember. I majored in art through high school, and took a few courses in Jr. College. I wanted to be an art teacher. I have tried many avenues for my creativity.

I stumbled into rubber stamping about 1994, when a friend invited me to a Stamping Up party, where I bought my first set of stamps. I was really into learning scrapbooking at the time and I owned 1 stamp that was bought to make tags for altered clothing
I sure I have MSD, multiple style disorder, as I enjoy making the simplest cards to the very distressed, to Victorian, to the multi layers, to collage, and the list goes on. I have a “what if……?” attitude, so I try many different techniques, then tweak them with my “what if…?”

I’ve been fortunate enough to have some of my work published years ago. Then I was led down the scrapbooking path again and now I am full circle back to rubber stamping and loving every minute of it. I had forgotten how much I enjoy coloring and creating and most of all the comradery of fellow rubber stampers. The comments left on my blog keep me inspired to do more and to do it better.
