A Fond Farewell and a Welcome Back

It is with regret that the Design Team is losing Jenn Borjeson as she has her plate full at the moment with posting to her own blog and being coordinator of the challenges of two other blogs.  We wish her well and I am sure you will see some more of her great creations on this site from time to time and on her own blog Wicked Wednesday.

At the same time we welcome back La Creatia (Krisha) Ogle.  She has been a member of the team before and I know you will love what she is going to create for the various challenges.  Welcome back.

Art Journal- Page Two

I know a lot of people do a page a day on their art journal.  I have two- that's not bad for a month!  I am just feeling my way around on this craft venue.  I am just loving doing the backgrounds.  Where I need help is what to put in the foreground.  Well here it is my second page.  I hope you can see the symbolism in it.
.My hubby wanted to know if I was making a ransom note with all the cutting of the letters out of the newspaper.!  I had completely demolished the newspaper before he got to read it.  The background is basically watercolors

Second Week of Challenge

We are beginning the seond week of the"Tickled Pink" challenge.  Scroll down to find the challenge announcement and the thumbnails for those who have entered already. We would love to see your take on the theme.  Below are some of the creations by the Design Team.
Vicki
With all this cold weather I just had to make a Spring-looking card.  This is Digi Darla's Garden Girl I image.  There are a number of digitals in this series.  I did a little fussy cut around her and placed her on a bed of flowered designer paper.   She is colored with Copic markers.  On the left side is a more ornate piece which was made by stamping (unknown) an orgnate scrollwork on cardstock.  The sentiment was made with the omputer and reads "I'm Tickeled Pink when I grow a beautiful flower."

Michele
For week two I chose Digi Darla's Party Flamingo. Since it is a digital image I was able to create two facing flamingos which I printed and colored with pencils and outlined with silver gel pen. Decorative papers and stickers complete my festive card. These flamingos are tickled pink to be celebrating!
I used the cute Digidarla's Blessing of Heaven 3 for my pink baby card. The card has layers of solid pink and white and a paper doily and bow to create a 'window'. The coloured image was fussy cut and 3D'd on top. Some glitter pen add a little sparkle. I'm looking forward to see some more fabulous pink creations this week!

My sponsor is Digi Darla again this week.  They have a great array of digital images for every theme.  You must go by the site and check it out.  They are offering some of their digital to the random generated winner of this challenge so scroll down and take part.
Petra
This week I incorporated all shades of pink I could get hold off on my tag ... from very pale pink to red-pink and complemented it with just a bit of turquoise. The wonderful bird image is again from our sponsor Digi Darla. I printed it, cut it out and coloured it with Copics. The background is inked and stamped with distress inks. As embellishments I added some little blings and a little flower.
Sharon
A very pink card using an Angie Delarie image and other pink embellishments!

JSL's Charm Challenge

Over at Just Some Lines blog there is having a challenge. using a charm.  I know  you will find this a fun challenge.  Here is my inspirational multi-layered card for the challenge.  The image is Just Some Lines' Amber with a Heart Balloon.  She is colored with Copics Markers.  My little charm is a glass oval resemblinga mirror.   After coloring the  balloon, I covered it with Stickles.

Art Journal - Page One

I thought I would get brave and try my hand a am art journal.  I finished my first page t his week on a piece of watercolor paper.  This was so much fun and liberating.  This piece was purely experimental, but I hope you like.    It was so much fun to do.
First I completely covered my watercolor paper with watercolors.  I had no pattern in mind.  I just put them on to covered all the white of the paper.
Next I airburshed the surface with Copic markers.

Next I stamped a doll parts stamp by Paula Best.  It was not very large so I stamped all the parts on a piece of paper, scanned and printed it out on my printer after increasing the size.  I have no idea how large I increased the pieces as they were all on one sheet.  Afterwards, I glued them on.  I wanted her to hold something in her hand.  I did not have any pictures as all my magazines have been thrown away (just when I needed them!) so I went to the web and found a nice pic of an apple and enlarged it to fit her hand.  The head on the doll is a picture of me and on top of it I place one of the heads from the stamp.
I was thrilled that the head fit my face perfectly.  If you look closely you will see that the eyes and lip fit together.

This was so much fun to make; I think I will try again.

Challenge #52 - "Tickled Pink"

I am so pleased that I had so many to enter my first challenge after the break the the Design Team and I took.  I hope everyone will return for future challenges and help spread the word about my challenges.

I have made one improvement, I hope, to the challenges and that is I am  posting the upcoming challenges on my sidebar.  This way, you can plan ahead.  However, if you will, please do not enter more than two entries per challenge.  We want to be able to comment on everyone's entry. The main reason I use the random generator is to give everyone a chance no win no matter her/his level of crafting. I hope beginners will win as well as advanced crafters.  The main purpose of the blog is to encourage one another.

The theme for the challenge is "Tickled Pink".  What we would like to see is a lot of pink or something that pleases you so much that you are tickled pink.
Vicki
My inspirational card for this challenge uses a cute Digi Darlas image of a boy hissing a little girl.  .  I used Copic markers to color the image. This card is a little different in that the sentiment is larger than the image.  The sentiment is fabric.   The border is a diecut from Cheery Lynn Designs. I thought this would make a perfect Valentine card.
Michele
For my pink creation I used a lovely Digi Darla angel image and colored her with pencils and a gold gel pen. She is cradled in an oval shape distressed with pink ink and laid on decorative origami paper. The base is pink card stock. I could easily use this as a Valentine by adding a Valentine sentiment but it could also be a non traditional Christmas card. There are such a wide variety of lovely Digi Darla images to work with that whoever wins this prize will have a happy time playing!
Sharon
I've used a great fun image "Coffee Grandma" for this die cut card. She has been coloured with Copic Markers and cropped using a new set of dies I recently purchased. I've added some embellishments: feathers, fibre and bling to finish it off!

Petra
Sooooo sweet ... this little baby girl asleep. This is one of Darla's darling images on a mini card. I printed the image twice and layered it to make the image pop. The patterend papers are digital papers, the sentiment stamped. As embellishments I added organza ribbon and a little bling.
The image I am working with is the Paisly Peacock. Paisley made me think of pink.
I coloured the image with my pencils and fussy cut the paisley parts out 2 extra images. I layered the image and added some gems and; glitter. If you wondered, I'm tickled pink with how it turned out.
Looking forward to see your creations!

Just Friends and a Challenge Reminder

This is reminder for Just Some Lines' challenge "Something New".  For my card I used a new paper company for me.  It is Mary and Co.  The flowery paper is adorable and I put it and the sentiment on my base card with a scrap of paisley that I had on hand.  My image, colored with Copics, is from Just Some Lines and I think it goes perfectly with the sentiment.

Drop over to the JSL site and put in an entry.

A Second Week of Challenge "White as Snow"

This is the seond week of the challenge "White as Snow"  If you haven't joined yet, I hope you will do so.  The naub requirement that you project should have is that is should be basically white, especially the background.  Below are some inspirational cards from the Design Team.

Vicki
My card is fairly simple  I placed a Spellbinders card on the Waltaing Matilda die by Cheery Lynn Designs.  The card is also  has a border by CLD.  It is call Carnavil.  The dies are accent with pearls.  The image is from an unkknown source.

Michele
Perhaps it is my reflections on the new year and perhaps it is the "white as snow" theme but the idea of peace is sticking with me. So I have another creation focusing on that idea. The "peace" stamp is from Hero Arts and I've got a sort of a "Warhol" style going with this one, using the stamp three times, embossing each time, giving it a decorative cut and affixing to my card stock. I hope you enjoy this card and can also take the time to enjoy joining our challenge.
Sharon
This week I have made a tag with white and; blue textured papers and added a gorgeous image from Lisa's Altered Art along with some ribbon, braid and a heart brad - something simple and soft looking!

 Valerie
This time I have made a little present box for a DVD/CD. The card I used is white with gold shimmer. The flower and wings have been die-cut using Sizzix dies, the butterfly is from my stash. I edged the flower with DI Victorian velvet, and placed a textile flower in the centre. The box is tied at the back with a narrow, white ribbon
Haave a nice week and thank for visiting.
This week I made a super quick, super CAS card. I had a sentiment ready for use which I attached to the card. A few fine liner lines finish the card.

I am grateful for the sponsorship of this challenge by the wonderful shop of Beverly Bohannon Classy Cards and Such.

All the new releases for Cheery Lynn Designs have been posted on Classy Cards and Such and they are beautiful.  She also carries some delightful cling stamps by Stampabie and some classy stamps from JustRite.  Atk this time she has a clearance on Tim Holtz Distress Inks.

Scroll down to a previous post for the challenge announcement and enter to win a $10.gift certificate from my sponsor.

Something New

For Just Some Lines the current challenge is "Something New" so I thought I would try a new way of doing  an old Mosaic technique,  Usually this is done with a rubber stamp, but this time I used a digital.  I wasn't sure if I could do it, but actually it was much easier than thought.  The little baby is Just Some Lines and the sentiment is from ScrapTrends. For  a little embellishment I added some narrow lace.

Challenges are Back

The Cheerful Stamp Pad is excited that challeges are back.  I hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Year and now is the time to start back crafting.  The DT has been on a well-deserved break and they are really to get back into the swing of things.

My first challenge for 2013 is Challenge #51 "White as Snow".  The background must be white, but we will allow a little color on the image.  For those of you who are entering my challenges for the first time the rules are mainly like those of other bloggers. You must follow the theme, no backlinking to previous posts, and you MUST link to the post that has your entry and not to the blog itself.  It is too time consuming to have to look and try to find your entry post.

The winner is chosen by the random generator.  However, I do something that most bloggers do not do and that is I notify the winner so hopefully there is a "Contact Me" or "Email" on your blog.  Once I let you know that you have won, please reply promptly as you have four days to reply.  After that I use the random generator again and pick another winner.  If the second winner has been notified, the prior one cannot claim the prize.  I also post the winner and her entry on my sidebar.  I try to do this by the Tuesday after the challenge closes.  Now the most important thing is to have fun!

My sponsor for this challenge is Classy Cards and Such.
Beverly is the owner of Classy Cards and Such.  She is offering a $10 gift certificate to the winner of this challenge.   She has the new release from Memory Box/PoppyStamps coming in.  . It's a big release.  She also carries dies from Spellbinders, Cheery Lynn Designs, Memory Box as well as from other companies.

In the Classy Cards and Such carries a wide assortment of glitter, embossing folders, stamps, inks, paper and bling.  You will have to check her store out as there are so many items to put on your "must havet" list..  Shipping?  Well, she is fast!  It is to you in a couple of days....no waiting for your order!

Now let's see what the Design Team has created.

 Vicki
My card uses two stamps from Our Daily Bread Designs.  The bird and sentiment are stamped on a Spellbinders die  Another die was used for the flower.  Other embellishments include  leaves and an ornate corner made from Cheery Lynn Designs dies.  Also added are a couple of rows of lace and a string of pearls.  Pearls were also added to the center of the flower.

This card was also made for Cheery Lynn Designs' challenge "Winter White" and Our Daily Bread Designs' challenge "Anything Goes".

Don't forget to drop by and see my sponsor below as she carries many of the products I used.

Sharon
My card uses an image from itKuPiLLi along with white and pink textured papers, die cut lattice window, lace and felt flower. White always looks great and i couldn't resist adding some pink on this card to compliment the image.

Rene :
I really like to play with just white - it gives you the chance to play with textures and white embellishments. My card is simple with embossing, some ribbon and lace and a touch of bling from my Gelly Roll.
Petra

A White Wedding
I layered white pearlescent and white corrugated card on a square blank card. Lace and ribbon mark the middle of the card. The wonderful lacey paper wreath has been cut with a Memory Box die which I embellished with paper flowers and lots of blings. The focal point is a handcut embossed paper heart and adorned with heart blings. The sentiment is stamped and heat-embossed in gold to give it this little extra special feel.

Valerie
I have used different shades of white for the card, background panel, lace, embossed panel and the bird, which has been glittered with Viva glitter liner. Hope you have all got off to a good start in the new year!

Michele
I'm excited for a new year of challenges here at the Cheerful Stamp Pad! For

Just Friends

This is my first post for 2013.

Can't you just image these little birds are friends.  They are huddled together to protect themselves from the cold.

I created this card just for the Cheery Lynn Designs' challenge themed "Friends or Friendship".  The background is a number of designer-paper scraps.  The image, colored with Copics, is from Just Some Lines.  The sentiment is from Vintage Arts Press. The die behind the birds is call Mini Pear Coved Rectangle Mega Doily from Cheery Lynn  The thing I like about this die is that it can be adjusted to almost any size.
