I don't usually post personal things on  my blog, but since this is probably my last grandchild,  I thought I would post a picture.  This is Caleb.  Isn't he is a doll?

Challenge # 39 "Anything Goes"

Here is the chance  you have been waiting for,  You are in the process of creating something and you can't find a challenge to enter it in.  Well this is it.  The theme is "Anything Goes".  There is only one restriction;  it cannot be something you have posted before.  You may have created it last month, but never posted.  Well that is ok.  The gals on the Desigonn Team have given you some ideas.  So get crafting as you have 2 weeks to post your creation.

As mentioned below in the information about my sponsor I bought some Cheery Lynn dies the other day and couldn't wait to use them so you will find that I used one in the the post right before this one.  I will be using some of the others during this week. 
My creation is an ornament.  Yes, I know it is not Christmas, but you will see that is has flowers on it.  I hope to make a number of these "garden" ornaments to put on a Spring tree.  One of my DT members, Cindy, told me how to make the ornament.  (She is missing on this post as she is out of town.)  The ornament is made from 3 dominoes on a metal backing.  Alcohole inks are on the background and a rose was stamped multiple times.  The ornament is surrounded by beads I had in my stash.

I'm using the "Anything Goes" theme as a chance to get ready for Easter! I found this darling baby-in-an-egg image from French Kissed Postcards and I've adhered it to some pretty blue lace paper, neutral cardstock and added a metallic Easter Bunny. Who doesn't love an "anything goes" challenge? Please join us!

I've made this "clean and simple" card using some digi images I bought ages ago and hadn't used!!! They are from Digi Design House - I love these funky dancers. I added the quote from the Quote Garden Site and stuck with the pink and black colour tonings.

Spring has definitely arrived and Easter is just around the corner. I created an easterly chunky ATC in form of a little box for Easter treats using my own template and decorating it with EchoPark patterend papers, a bunny image from the Graphics Fairy, stamps from Waltzing Mouse, fabric flowers and some little blings. Enjoy the sunshine!

For my DT piece I have made a tag cut from some Anna Griffin paper. I have over-stamped it with some flourishes in forest moss, and then placed the image - printed onto acrylic - behind the TH die-cut. I have added some bling to the tree, and two vintage scraps; the children at the front, and the owl on the lady's shoulder.

Jenn here - we had some unseasonably warm temps here in New England last week, and it got me in the SUMMER SPIRIT! I used Country Anya, a digi image from the Greeting Farm, along with a template of a peach found online at Elizabeth Dulemba's coloring page site. My DP is from Authentique - ribbon is from my stash.

Travel Cards

I have been doing a number of "cute" or "whimsical cards lately, so I thought I would switch and post something a little different.  I love the images on these two cards.  They are from Hampton Arts.  They are great images to use as there are so versatile.

The first card shows only a partial image from the Hampton Art stamp.  I cut it to fit the beautiful Cheery Lynn die,  I like the fact that there are a number of different little images which can be colored.  This I did with Copic markers.

Finishing off  the card, I attached a ready-made embellishment which says "Dream" with a small butterfly attached.  This is what I am doing  now as we  almost made a trip to Paris this summer, but decided otherwise.  Now I can only dream of going.

My second card is also a travel-inspired card; I put the Hampton Art image on a very small mat of burgundy and then place that on some beautiful designer paper which is gold and has copper in the design  All of this is placed on a burgundy base card.  I didn't put a sentiment on this card as I didn't want to distract from the image.  Again, Copic markers were used to color.

Hitching a Ride

I have made a number of center-step cards lately and this one uses the cute Just Some Lines image of Tut and Peep. I image that they are going turtle speed down to the finish line and little Peep has hitched a ride. I used.Bingo tokens to show the finish line and colored the two characters brightly with Copic markers.

If you are not familiar with the center-step card, I have two views of it below. One shows the front while the other shows the side. This card sits well on a table and a sentiment can also be placed inside.

Baby ATC

It has been a while since I made an ATC.  Here is one that I made for Wicked Wednesday's ATC challenge "Babies".  I picked an older baby to put on my ATC.  It mainly has scrap papers and little digitals of babies.  I can't remember where I got the digitals.  They were in my stash.  The word "Toddler" is from the newspaper.  This was fun to make.

A Little Green and Sewing Elements

In honor of St. Patrick's Day I made my card with a lot of green and used some sewing elements which is what is need for the challenge at CS Designs this week.  You will have to drop by Art with No Boundaries to see the inspirations of the other members of the DT and to enter the challenge.  For my card I used the Arabesque image.  Don't you think she is adorable?

She was colored with Copic markers. and put on a green designer paper mat.  That was placed on a larger mat of music designer paper.  Since she looked like she was dancing and her name was Arabesque, (a dance step), I thought the music background was appropriate.  Everything was placed on basic green cardstock.

As embellishments, I  used some stitching trim and covered buttons.  The sentiment is also by CS Designs.

Wind and Rain - Second Week

Here is a Center-Step card with Saturated Canary's  image Let it Rain.  I really enjoy coloring Krista's images.  My card has solid blue cardstock on the two flaps on the side and on the front step and behind the image I used a brown and blue doted paper.  A bluish flower embellishes the bottom left corner and to give the card balance I put a matted oval with a handwritten "Hi" at the top right.

This is the postcard I made for the last challenge. It has been painted with acrylics, partly mixed with stickles, and using punchinella for texture. The umbrella man has also been cut from hand-painted paper .

The text is from Psalm 72, v. 6.

If it's a "Windy and Rainy Day", I want to spend it indoors, reading! So what better way to feature this lovely design by Saturated Canary than on a bookmark! I colored the digi with watercolor pencils and a water pen, fussy cut her out and matted with two shades of purple. I printed the verse and matted with pink. I punched out extra flowers from the designer paper background and added them for interest. A pink ribbon finishes the bookmark off.

Who says that you can only fly a kite in Autumn? At times it is definitely windy enough to do so at the moment. The image is again from Saturated Canary, isn't she sweet? I coloured her with Copics and layered her in digital paper from Tracy Ann Digital. As embellishments I used some buttons, Stickles and some blings.

I've gone a bit different for my new creation for this Windy & Rainy Day Challenge and have used a Gecko Galz Collage image of an Asian Geisha with a parasol. I've used Japanese papers and fibres for the background and layering. I love to create Asian style.

For my second celebration of rainy, windy weather I used a Catherine Moore Character Constructions stamp on designer paper from Twisted Papers. My little man in a teacup with his tiny umbrella is escaping big raindrop stickers which I had to use because they are actually called raindrops! Stay dry and keep crafting.

Krista's images are so much fun to color and create with - I used the same paper pad that I used last week, Jack and Jill from My Mind's Eye, but I used different pieces and came up with a completely different look. I kept this one bright and cheery, hope it makes you smile!

Just Sitting There

Just sitting there.  That's what I would like to do sometime.  Not doing anything, but just sitting there watching.  .   Wouldn't it be great to not have anything to do, but sit and watch others running around?  I am retired and I thought when you stopped working outside the home, that you just sit there being  bored.  Boy was I mistaken.  However, that is what Kyra, the lovely image from Just Some Lines, is doing thing about Spring.  She is colorred with Copic markers.  I placed her on a Spellbinders diecut and then adhered that to a split, but coordinating pieces of cardstock for my background. 

I am entering this in SweetStamps' "Think Spring" challenge.

Faux Stitches

Here is a little card I made with Faux Stitches. The image is called Angelina from CS Designs   She is on a double Spellbinders diecut with faux stitching around it.  The image is colored with Copic markers and buttonlll accent the card with the sentiment "Sew Much Fun".

Challenge # 38 - "A Windy and Rainy Day"

Well, in Tennessee we have had a lot of wind and rain lately so I thought that the weather that we have been having would make a great challenge.  Thus "A Windy and Rainy Day" was established.  I don't think I have to explain what type of images would be accepted for this.  You just need to follow the theme.
Here are some samples of images from Saturated Canary that really hit the target for the challenge.  Even though some of us used the same image, our interpretations are different.

Krista of Saturated Canary was so generous to give us some images to use as our inspiration for this challenge.  I chose the Let it Rain image and colored with Copic markers using very light colors.  She is placed on a made which gives you the impression of wind.  This is trimed with a tassel-type trim and a double flower with a bow center.  The entire image and mat is placed on some Spring designer paper on a blue card base.

Contrary - Jack and Jill pack from My Mind's Eye. Sentiment is a sticker from Oriental Trading Company.

Isn't she adorable with her big blue eyes and wellies? I coloured this delightful image from our sponsor Saturated Canary with Copics and highlighted the teeny tiny raindrops with glossy accents. The image is layered on a white card base, Kraft card from PinkPetticoat and patterend digital paper (Tracy Ann and Crystal'). The clouds and raindrops are handcut and dry-embossed with the Cuttlebug embossing folder.

I'm having "One of those Days"!!!

LOL that's the image I have used from Saturated Canary this week. I've used co-ordinating papers from a Basic Grey Pad to make this card for the new challenge and the image is coloured with Copic Markers. I used the current sketch from Sketch Saturday to layout the card.

This Saturated Canary digi is called "Windy Day." I've colored it with pencils and laid it on a designer background page from Twisted Papers. The wind has been ferocious n the Pacific Northwest lately -- I think if you tried to fly a kite you'd just break it! Hopefully things are milder where you are. But if not, windy conditions are good for staying inside making art!

"Walk In The Rain" Coaster

This little hanging was done on a 4" x 4" coaster. I used Distress Inks & Stain to make the background and shade the sentiment. You can't tell by the photo but there is an acetate overlay with embossed "rain" lines. The Liquid Pearl "rain drops" are placed here and there along those lines. The acetate was attached to the coaster with jump rings.
