A Creative Day

Krisha, finishes up her Guest Designer time with the following post and her last card gives us a hint of the next challenge.

After cleaning and sorting I got busy and created four new cards. The first two will qualify for the Gingersnaps GC67 challenge. The challenge is three colors: pumpkin, eggplant and avocado.
The next card is just an Autumn card where I was just trying different things and was happy with the results. My So Thankful for You also qualifies for a Ginger Snap challenge: Only one stamp.  I love sunflowers and this background print is one of my favorites
Hope you enjoyed my creative progress for the day.

More Leaves

Here are two views of a plaque I made to look like wood using acrylic paints on a base of gesso.  The center is a stamped image that I enlarged.

Bordering the greeting are leaves that I created with solid cardstock.  The colors of the leaves were airbrushed with Copic markers and I bent and twisted the leaves so they would have a realistic look.  Look closely behind the two main groups of leaves.  Can you tell what that mesh-looking stuff is?  Would you believe that it is the netting that was around my turkey last year.  Yes, I save everything!

I am posting "Leaves" to remind everyone that I have a challenge with the theme "Leaves".    Get your juices flowing and enter my challenge.

Also, time is running out on Challenge #2 "Think Pink".  It will be ending Sunday evening so get those entries in.

Romance

Romance is in the air. My fan  was created with the Play Date Cafe Challenge in mind.  The main colors for this challenge are pink, yellow and orange.  The stamped image is by Hearts in Touch.

I just did get this finished in time for the last day of Play Date Cafe's one year anniversary celebration.  Congratulations PDC!

Winner

The random generator picked the winner of my first challenge.
                      True Random Number Generator
Min: 1

Max: 13

 Result: 11

Shelley of Wild Frogs Stamps is the winner.  Congratulations Shelly.  Now for the prize.  Since I did not have a sponsor for this challenge, I decided to give a stamped image for each entry.  Therefore Shelley will receive 13 stamped images.  That should help her get some crafting done this fall and upcoming holiday season.

Black and Orange - Halloween

Here is a tag I made for  the Black and Orange Challenge at Kard Krazy's Tag Tuesday.  I went with the Halloween theme.  I am also taking part in Drunken Stampers  challenge on Halloween.

This tag is also in the shape of an Arch.  Gingersnap Creations is having an arch challenge.  Simon Says Stamp and Show is having a spooky challenge.  Having a spooky pumpkin on a shelf makes me have chills.

Main image is from Twisted Papers.

"Woman" Challenge Closing Soon

This post of a harvest maiden is a reminder that there are three days left in which to join Stamp Pad Challenge #1.  The theme is "Woman".

Here is a young woman with golden hair like the autumn sun.  She is dressed with the symbols of the harvest.  The girl image is by Stamp Oasis but  the company for the greeting is unknown.  I used a couple of techniques on this card.  Firstly, is the Clipped Corners of the image and secondly, the main image is on a Coredination background.

Coloring is done with colored pencils and Copics.  I'm not very pleased with the scan.  The coloring looks much better in person.

Don't forget, the challenge ends Sunday midnight.

Guest Designer

The Cheerful Stamp Pad is pleased to announce its first Guest Designer.  She is LaCretia Ogle.  Below is a little about. her.
LaCreatia Ogle

I think I was born with a crayon in my hand. I have been drawing, painting, coloring, cutting, gluing and creating things as long as I can remember. I majored in art through high school, and took a few courses in Jr. College. I wanted to be an art teacher. I have tried many avenues for my creativity.

I stumbled into rubber stamping about 1994, when a friend invited me to a Stamping Up party, where I bought my first set of stamps. I was really into learning scrapbooking at the time and I owned 1 stamp that was bought to make tags for altered clothing
I sure I have MSD, multiple style disorder, as I enjoy making the simplest cards to the very distressed, to Victorian, to the multi layers, to collage, and the list goes on. I have a “what if……?” attitude, so I try many different techniques, then tweak them with my “what if…?”

I’ve been fortunate enough to have some of my work published years ago. Then I was led down the scrapbooking path again and now I am full circle back to rubber stamping and loving every minute of it. I had forgotten how much I enjoy coloring and creating and most of all the comradery of fellow rubber stampers. The comments left on my blog keep me inspired to do more and to do it better.

Witch in the Moonlight

This is not your ordinary witch on this tag.  She went to the Farmer's Almanac and checked the dates of the moon phases so  she would be flying in the light of a Full Moon.  She is taking off to spend a night of spooking.

This is a tag for Kard Krazy's Tag Tuesday "Moon" challenge.  The stamp is by I Break for Stamps.. The moon is colored with a Copic marker.

A Jester Under the Arch

Here is an arch I made for Gothic Arches. They have had the theme "Jester"  for this week. The stamp being used is from Scrolls Work.  The pin in the corner is from a stash my sister sent me from her old jewelry box.  It is hard to see from the scan, but the jester has a jewel at the end of the floppy points of his hat..

This piece is also for Simon Stamp  and Show's challenge "Show Some Metal".  Both the key and the pin are made of metal.

I'm Celebrating and Starting Challenges

This is a two-part post.

First Part
Here is a card of celebration.  You ask what I am celebrating?  Well, it is my birthday today so I created a birthday celebration card.  You will notice that it is not your typical birthday card.  It has no candles.  If I put candles on a card, I would have to make a 12x12 card in order to get them all on!

Second Part
Since it is my birthday and I have been blogging for just a little over a year, I have seen the importance of hosting challenges.  The sites I visit all the time hosts challenges.  A few of t hem offer prizes for the best or for the random number picked.

Now I think I am ready to start hosting challenges.  Even though I don't have a sponsor at this time so I can offer prizes, but I can spotlight the winner's work.  Therefore, starting today, I am going to host challenges.  The winner will be chosen at ramdom and spotlighted on my blog for a week.  Right now I will start each challenge every two weeks.  They will begin on Mondays and end on Sundays at 12 Midnight CST.

Getting Ahead of the Holidays - Trees

From time to time I am going to make a few Christmas cards in order to get ahead of the holidays.  At the same time I am entering Gingersnaps Creations' 'Trees" Challenge.  This is a stand-up card and I will write a message on the base.  The main embellishment on this card is the dimensional tree whose branches are tipped with snow.  Notice not only did the snow fall on the tree, but it stuck to the sign.  Below the sign is a bought embellishment of holly.  This has been one of my favorite cards and it is so easy.

I'm also entering PLay Date Cafe #50  in their Melon, White and Green Challenge.

A number of people have asked if it was a clay tree.  The answer is "No".  It is paper.

Inch by Inch

Gingersnaps Creations is having a challenge called "Inches".  So I pulled out all my inchie stamps.  I really haven't used them much in the past.  These are by Inkadinkadoo.  They are stamped on paper on which I did the Bleach Swipes technique.  I have used this technique a lot lately as one day during the summer I sat on my patio and made numerous sheets in different colors using that technique.  Now I am trying to use it up!

Pumpkins Near the Haystack

Here is a tag I made for Tag Tuesday Challenge "Pumpkins".  I put my pumpkins next to the haystack (rafia).   The pumpkins are there smiling wanting to go home and be a pie.  The background on the left side is an errie piece of Bleach Swipes paper.  This was a fun tag to do and hopefully it will put everyone ready for cool weather and in the spirit of Fall.

Soartful Challenges has the Fall theme this week also.

The pumpkins stamp is by Stampin' Up.

Day and Night

What time is it?  Day or Night?  I created this for the Gothic Arch's  "Day and Night Challenge".  Instead of choosing one or the other I decided to depict both parts of the challenge. If you notice the main image at the top, it is an embossed half sun and half moon.

The clocks tick during both during the day and the night.

This piece is also for two other challenges. I decided to add the black and white banner at the bottom for the Tag Tuesday Challenge "Banners". The third challenge is for Creative Belli Blog which is focusing on  "101-Numbers".
