Challenge #7 -"O Holy Night"

As Challenge No 6 is closing soon I am beginning a new challenge.  This time I am  emphasizing the true meaning of Christmas, the birth of our Savior.  The name of this challenge is "O Holy Night".  Your creations need to depict the the true reason for the season.  For example you can use angels, the manger, the three wise men or the shinning star..  This challenge will run from now until December 26 at which time the Design Team will pick the one creation that best carries out the theme.  I will not be using the random generator this time.  You may create a special project, a card or create a tag.

To the right is a card using the torn frame technique.  Hopefully it will inspire you to submit an entry into the challenge. The main image is by Stampin' Up and the greeting is by Oogloo.  This card is also using the colors of the Play Date Cafe #59 Challenge.

My sponsor? It is none other than Unity Stamps!   I am so excited that Unity Stamps has graciously offered a package of 11 stamps for the winner of this challenge. You will not be disappointed with these stamps.  Also, if you have a chanc go and check out their store as I am sure you will find something you have to have.

Additional Inspiration for Challenge

Here are some additional inspirational cards for you to see.  i hope they will encourage more of you to join my challenge.  This is not a difficult theme so let's see what you can create.  i have some great stamps from Unity Stamps that I am sure you will enjoy using.
Vicki

I have had these two stamps for a number of years.  The "Noel" is not marked.  The angel is from from Rubber Stampede.. I did a background of Highlighted Cuttlebug and used distressed inks on this card giving it a vintage look.

My card is also being used to enter the the Vintage Challenge on Gingersnap Creations.

Barbara

I just love this stamp. I think it truly brings out the feeling of Christmas. I am so sad that I don't know who made this stamp. This was a very simply constructed card. I stamped the image in white pigment ink on a dark green background and embossed using white embossing powder. I layered the green panel against a grey panel. The sentiment is a metal tag which I adhered to the green panel

Krisha's Ornament post card

Shaded with Tom Holt's ink, then stamped and embossed with gold. A rhinestone was added to the star and a gold ribbon ran through the holes   Sentiment from Stamp Oasis. Angel from Inkadinkado

Challenge #6- Twas the Night Before...& Here Comes Santa Clause

This post will stay on top during the length of the challenge.  For current posts, please scroll down.

I am so please to announce that this challenge is being sponsored by Firecracker Designs by Pamela.  She has some terrific buys.  You have to check them out.  Pam is going out of business and is trying to deplete her stock of stamps.  At these prices, you will have to order a number of these sets and give them as gifts to your crafting friends.  My little zig zag card below uses her stamps

You remeber the story of Twas the Night Before Christmas, don't you?  There are so many images in it- the reindeer, the window sash, the stocking cap, sleigh, toys, and of course Santa.

Speaking of Santa, there are  many images of Santa Clause available on the market now.  Some are modern; some are vintage, amd the choice is yours.  Let's see some of those images and what you create with them.  You may make a card or a project of your choice.

With this two-part challenge, you can submit almost anything.  However, to get your juices flowing, the DT has made a couple of  samples to inspire you.
Krisha

I guess I am one of the rare ones that only has ONE Santa stamp! I have tons of Christmas stamps, but only one Santa! So I use him year in and year out, as I really do love this image from Bees Wax. He is stamped on vellum, and colored with markers. I then layered it between the card with a hole cut in it and a layer of stripped paper, also with the same size hole in it. The holy is an other great holiday stamp from Hero Arts and the believe is from Inkadinkado. The holy was stamped on green cs and embossed with a darker green. The berries are colored with red puffy paint, so they really are nice and red and shiny. The snowflake is a cut out from my Cricut with pearls added to it. I finished off the card with alittle gold charm of a Christmas tree. Check out my blog:http://krishaskeepsakes.blogspot.com/2010/11/do-you-believe.html to see how it looks open with a light behind it.

This is one of my favorite Santa images. It's from Stamper's Anonymous, Tim Holtz collection. To create my card I used the brayered spotlight technique from the December 2006 issue of Technique Junkies newsletter. It's an easy technique, but I think it's quite effective. The sentiment is an outline sticker. The ribbon is attached with a staple. Hopefully my name is on Santa's good list. How about you?

Vicki

Since the other two gals choose "Here Comes Santa Clause", I decided to go with "Twas the Night Before.."  The is a fun children's story so I went with a fun Christmas creations making the Zig Zag  card from the TJ Fancy Folds CD.

My beautiful bright red and gold cardstock is from Paper Temptress and the cute little stamps are from my sponsor Firecraker Stamps  Isn't my little mouse cute?  He got hung up in the bows and now he has one stuck to his tail.   The partially-eaten cheese and the greeting which says "and all through the house, not a creature was stirring except this little mouse." are  also from Firecracker Stamps.
Since I didn't get this posted yesterday as planned (running late AGAIN) I am having the ending date of this challenge December 13.

If you will, please post on your blog my candy and become a follower.

Let's see those Santa images and the different elements of the children's classic The Night Before Christmas!

Challenge Ending

The card is a reminder that my challenge "Here Comes Santa...Twas the Night Before"" is ending soon.  You have one more day to join  the challenge.  I know that there are more Santas out there, but where are they?  You can link your card or project at the end of the post just above this one.  You can use either stamps or digitals like I did on this card.  In any case, please link directly to the post of this challenge and become a follower.

The scan doesn't show, but the background uses the Faux Wall Panelling technique.    The main digital is from Graphics Fairy.

A Stitch in Time

This card has stitching all the way around the image and the trim is sewed on.  This will give me an entry into Gingersnaps Creation.  I thought I would never get it done as my sewing machine didn't want to cooperate.  Maybe if I used it more I would have better results.

The image is from a Christmas collection that Inka has in her Altered Artifacts'  store.  I just love this one in particular.  Since she has holly in her bonnet, I decided to embellish my card with glittery holly and berries.  There was no need for a greeting as at the top of the image it says "Merry Christmas".

This post is entitled A Stitch in Time which reminds me I have one more Santa card to put up as a reminder to everyone that my challenge is ending soon. I am hoping more people will enter.  It doesn't have to be a card.  It can be a tag or project of some kind.  Just make sure you link directly to the project and become a follower.   I am giving away a great set of stamps by Firecracker Designs by Pamela.  Pamela is going out of business and has some terrific buys.  Just check her out.

This is for Gingersnaps Creations' "Sewing" challenge and Simon's Stamp and Show's challenge "Christmas Greeting".

Out of the Box "Snowpeople"

I notice a  number of the bloggers are posting cards with "snowpeople".  I have a number of snowmen stamps, but I also like using parts of a stamp.  Here is my card;  I  made an out of the box card with just the cute face of my snowman.

The snowman is by Hero Aarts and the little berries in the corner is by Firecracker Designs by Pamela, for the present ongoing challenge above.  Coloring was done with Copics.

Challenges I am participating in are
