Hearts and Flowers

This is the second week for the theme Hearts and Flowers.  It is such an easy theme. You can use digital or regular stamps or even hand-draw your images.  Let's see some more entries!  Just remember to not enter more than twice in order to be eligible for the prize. The Design Team has been busy at work.

I used a different approach to this card.  I wanted a little color without worrying about detail and I have gotten to really like working with watercolors.

For week 2 of Hearts and flowers I chose this gorgeous flower (marigold?) from Floppy Latte at Stitchy Bear Outlet. The card is 4 1/4 X 6 1/4 and used an ornamental lace die from the Momento Collection - Tied together. This die is from Couture Creations. I used some stardream paper in vanilla to cut the lace piece and layered it on Daffodil Delight cardstock. Cut the Happy Birthday out of a scrap of green cardstock then added the white heart.

For the second week of Hearts and Flowers, I made a card using a lovely image called " large shaded flower" which was kindly supplied by our sponsor Stitchy Bear. I colored it digitally and layered it on a black corrugated cardboard and then on a cardstock. After that I added some punched flowers, crystals, a blue swirl and a sentiment. Hearts and flowers are such lovely images to work with.  Our DT was given digital images from Stitchy Bear artist Floppy Latte to make our creations.  Here is my week 2 card -- the digital image is called "large shaded flower" and I printed it on Gecko Galz paper and then colored it with colored pencils. I cut that piece and layered it on a second piece of designer paper from Gecko Galz then added borders, distressing and a punched heart.  This card could be used for a birthday, get well, sympathy or any number of occasions.  I look forward to seeing your creations this week!

For my card for the second week I've featured both hearts and flowers, using the lovely 'flowers and lattice' image from Stitchy Bear's 'in the garden', coloured with chameleon pens and fussy cut to stick on a shaped card blank, adding the Kanban sentiment panel, gems and epoxy hearts.

Second Week of "Garden" Challenge

I am so pleased to see such great entries so far for the "In the Garden" challenge.  Below are some additional pieces of inspiration created by the Design Team.

I used the Beary Happy Bloom image created by Kaz Krataz on the Stitchey Bear Outlet site.  It is colored with Copic markers.  As embellishment I used a piece of ric-rack and a snail sticker.

Our design team was lucky to get some fun digital images to work with and this week I chose an image from the designer Kaz Kraftz.  The background designer paper on my card stock is by Lunagirl. I printed the Kaz Kraftz digital image onto designer paper by Gecko Galz.  I colored the digi ant with colored pencils, cut that paper to size and adhered it to the background paper.  I added the butterfly border on two sides and a little flower sticker at the bottom.

For the second week of “In the garden”,  I used the Stitchy Bear Outlet stamps BB Kakes 'garden me' digital image kindly provided by our sponsor. I colored it with pencils and layered it on a cardstock and then on a scrapbook paper. I added some fabric flowers, a butterfly, a lovely ribbon and sentiment. Spring is an adorable season. For the second week of the In The Garden Challenge I chose this cute little girl from Stitchy Bear Outlet who is ready to get to the garden. So far we can't get to our gardens yet as all the snow has not melted and for some spots it might be a while since we are still below freezing, but it's good for the Maple Syrup. I found a cute sketch from Digi Sketch Challenge that I thought would work perfect for this image I added the die cut flowers to match the ones on her hat. The patterned paper is from the Green Stack from DCWV.

I've made an Easter card using a piece of Pink petticoat Wild Blossoms paper for the background with a striped band across the middle (an offcut from some paper that came with a magazine). I die cut the Stitchy Bear Kaz Kraftz 'beary happy bloom', kindly supplied by the sponsor, having coloured with Chameleon pens. I lightly brushed the edges of the die cut with victorian velvet distress ink before removing from the die. The Happy Easter ribbon and the eggs were originally from Poundland, quite a while ago.

Chalalenge #106 - "In the Kitchen"

The Design Team thought they would have a theme that might peak your interest;  it is "In the Kitchen".  What can you use for your entry.  There is the cook, recipe books, cooked food, utensils, and fresh vegetables.  Take a look through your stash and see if you don't have something you can use and join in on the fun.  Let's see what the DT created.

For that kitchen look I used a designer paper that resembled tile that you might see in a home kitchen or a diner.  It is accented with black cardstock.  The image is from Stitchey Bear Outlet.  At the side of the image are the words "MM...good"

For the first week of "In the Kitchen", I  used  an image called “What’s cookin” and it was kindly supplied by our sponsor Stitchey Bear Stamps. I colored it with watercolor pencils and outlined with a black pen. For the background I used a scrapbook paper and a cardstock. I adorned my card with a trim, some fabric pots and a cup. The sentiment is made of fabric too. Have a magical and keep playing along with us!

Back with a new challenge for the next two weeks...In the Kitchen. I chose this sweet little girl image serving a banana split...yummy although haven't had one since 1967. I have a 12 X 12 pad of just kitchen paper left over from when I was doing 4 X 6 recipe card swaps and cut ta Nellie Snellen  scalloped oval in it to layer over the image that I cut with a smaller oval and the pink base shows through. ( a technique I was taught at a Stamp Art class) I used the off cut on the inside. the sponsor is Stitchy Bear Outlet.

for my creation i used a very cute stitchy bear digital stamp called "tea time" to make a recipe pocket. i started with a library card pocket.  i covered it in two different papers from the background fairy   I adhered those to the pocket and added a border and a heart punched from one of the two papers. i colored the digital stamp with colored pencils and cut it out and added it to the pocket.  my final step was adding some words and putting a recipe into the pocket.

I used the Stitchy Bear In the Kitchen apple pie image,kindly supplied by the sponsor, colouring with Chameleon pens. The main background paper is from Basic Grey offbeat paper pad and the other pieces are from my offcuts box.

Second Week of "Bear" Challenge

The Design Team has created some additional inspirational projects for you.  We have received some great entries for this challenge, but want to see additional ones.  So look though your images and enter.  Don't forget you can go directly to the challenge announcement by linking on the shortcut on my sidebar.

My little bear image sits on a blue mat on top of a background of letters.  The card is embellished with a scroll sticker and the sentiment reads "embrace family".  This little bear can be found on the Stitchey Bear Outlet website.

For my card I've used Stitchy Bear's Digi Outlet 'boo boo bear'. I coloured with my newly-acquired Chameleon pens (please be gentle as I've only just started using these). I tore around a perspex oval template and brushed the edges with brushed corduroy distress ink. The background sentiment papers are offcuts. A few fabric hearts were added as it looked too plain without them.

For the second week of the challenge I used Coco Bear, isn't he just the cutest? I had a sketch in mind and wanted to u se some scraps so I sized him small and fussy cut, coloured with copics and SN markers added White opal liquid pearls to the foam and star dust stickles to the icicles. I really like kraft and riding hood red cardstock together and the scraps of patterned paper go well too. Everything but the base is from the scrap box.

I've made another card featuring a bear digital image provided by our challenge sponsor Stitchy Bear Stamps.  This bear knows that the best way to deal with a snowy day is to land in a mug of hot cocoa!
I colored the digital image with colored pencils.  For the background I used some wonderful wintry papers from Bo Bunny, one with snowflakes and one with ski images.  I decorated this card with ribbon, a sparkly border and a sparkly snowflake.

For the second week of  B is for Bear, I used a lovely image kindly supplied by our sponsor Stitchey Bear called Ballarina Bear. I colored it with watercolor pencils and outlined it with a black pen. Then I layered my adorable image on a wine cardstock. I used a patterned paper for background.  Hope you can see it. Second Week of Challenge

The second week of "Here, Kitty, Kitty has begun.  I am afraid I personally have not created anything this time as I have been working with a  very sick husband who had back surgery this week.  I hope next week he will be better.  So, therefore; let's see what the other team members created this week.

I just loved the cute kitty images we received from Stitchy Bear/Barbara Jensen, I used the one for a Birthday card last week and decided this little guy needed a Santa Hat, and I had one from High Hopes stamps (Canadian company) I bought it 4 or 5 years ago and think I might have used it once. I fussy cut the hat and attached it to the image. The wreath is a brad, bought at my favourite little store in Delhi ON, they have the best brads. The sentiment is from a Stampin'up Christmas set. Patterned paper is from a DCWV Christmas and Winter diecut pad.

It doesn't take much for a cat to be happy -- if they are stretching or rolling around, or playing with their friends or chasing butterflies, whatever it is -- they are at peace.  These are good lessons for their human friends to learn.  I tried to capture that feline joy for this tag,  I used two digital kitty images from our challenge sponsor Stitchy Bear's designer Barbara Jensen.  I printed both on paper from the primavera paper line by itKuPiLLi.  The other background papers are random designer papers from my stash, as are the butterfly stickers.  The ecstasy stamp is from "marked by distinction."  I did additional decorating with my Molotow pens.

For the second week of Here Kitty, Kitty, I created a bookmark using a digital image from Stitchy Bear/ Barbara Jensen which I colored with watercolor pencils. I layered my kitty on a paper from a kit called Cute Cats and you can find it at Digitally Me.Then I added some flowers, ribbons and a sentiment from Becky's Scrap. I've used Stitchy Bear's 'little tiggy tiger' kindly supplied by the challenge sponsor, coloured in copics and mounted on to an offcut of copper mirror card. The paw print ribbon and the computer printed sentiment were also mounted on to other snippets of copper mirror card and everything matted on to some animal print card that I've had for a long time ... just waiting for a 'tiggy tiger' to come along!
