A Second Week of The Sweet :Life

We are beginning our second week of "The Sweet Life" challenge.  If you haven't entered yet, you still have time to create something as there are seven days left before the challene ends.  Don't forget, you can always go to the top of my sidebar and by clicking on the link you can go directly to the current challenge.

To me it is The Sweet Life to have a sunny day.  Moth Fab from Stampotique is enjoying the day which only has one cloud partially covering the sun.  Ihe image was colored with Copic markers.  As added embellishment, I included a couple of strips of paper ribbon, some flowers and a butterfly.

What could be nicer than sitting with all your friends under a sun umbrella, a cloudless sky above you and the beach is yours! The base for this card is textured white card, the background for the stamped image (Stampotique) was created with the babywipe background technique. The little dictionary sentiment is also from Stampotique cut with a nestabilities label. The little heart is a tiny stamp from Elzybells which I coloured and glittered .... two of the little friends also dressed up with a little Stickles. Enjoy the sunshine!

This week I've used the same 2 Stampotique images to make a "Sweet Life" card. I used inkpads to make the background & stamped a flower image at the bottom. "Moth" has been coloured with Copic Markers and latered on some co-ordinating torn Japanese paper and I added some flower braid to the bottom of the card. I love the darker colours of this card!

This sweet winged creature and the "angels can fly" quote stamp are both from Stampotique Originals. I used a Technique Junkies technique called "random coloring" for the central image. The rest of the elements on this tag are a variety of designer papers, pearls and a flower. It is a sweet idea to "take oneself lightly" and if you do it right you can fly! Hope you'll find time to join this challenge.

Hi everybody, here is my card for week two of the *sweet Life* Challenge.  Have a good week.

 Jenn
Hi everyone-  I made this sweet bookmark/tag using Stampotique's images - I stamped my sentiment directly onto the DP and then fussy-cut out the girl with the umbrella.  Ribbon and buttons are from my stash.  Have a great week, everyone, and we look forward to seeing your creations!

Steampunk Tag

I haven't worked with many tags lately so I thought I would create one today.  This is a little on the steampunk side.  The main image is by Octopode Facotry and the bird is by Stampotique.  This tag was done for the Gingersnap  Creations' Spicy Supply Challenge "Crimpers".  I had to dig deep into one of my stash drawers to find my crimper as it has been ages since I have used it.  The green scrape of paper is what I used my crimper on.  I think is adds a lot to my tag.  Additional embellishments used are a couple of Bingo tokens, a small dimensional flower and an old type hook and some rafia.

Below the picture of the whole tag is a closeup of the main image which I colored with Copic markers.

Stampotique Designer's Challenge

I know everyone loves free stuff - and this is your chance for great prizes!  Pat Huntoon's Technique Junkie Design Team is participating this week in the Stampotique Designer's Challenge. One lucky participant will win a Two-Year subscription to the Technique Junkie Newsletter (on-line only) and a Fancy Folds and Motion CD. The other winner will receive a $30 gift certificate to use on the Stampotique Store. Instructions for participation are below.

Here are your rules for participation:

1. For this challenge, use Stampotique Stamps only.
2. You must use either the Faux Barnwood Technique or another Technique Junkie technique of your choice, and state which one you used in your post.
3. On the Stampotique Designer's Challenge blog, you must link directly to your challenge post, not to your general blog.
4. The contest will close on March 8, 2011, at 5 PM EST.
5. Have fun and show us what you can do!

Both of my samples use Faux Barnwood as the background.  It is just two different colors.  All stamps are by Stampotique and coloring was done with Copics.

February - The Month of Love

Here is my latest Valentine.  This time it is a tag.  You know, you don't have to make your Valentine red or pink and white.  I decided to do this valentine tag in black and white with a splash of purple so I could enter Play Date Cafe's Challenge 66 this week.

The tag uses an image from Stampotique.  The coloring is done with Copic markers.  The words are those of the image made with stickers.  I used out of the box and level up techniques.  The large flower has two levels to give it a 3D effect.  The close-up picture is a little fuzzy because of the 3D flower when it was scanned.

The gal knows her guy loves her as he has given her flowers even though he probably picked them from the roadside.
