Seasonal Fun

"Seasonal Fun" is the theme of one of the challenges at Crafter's Digital Art Center (CDAC).  It is open until the end of the month so you might want to enter.  My card reflects the  weather in Tennessee.  The grass is beginning to grow and all the small animals are beginning to come out like this little turtle.  You have to look closely in the grass as he is trying to stay protected as he ventures out.

My little turtle, who is dressed in its Easter finerly is from Pricilla's Styles.  He is colored with Copic markers and the sentiment was cut from a old birthday card.  The butterfly following the turtle is a sticker.

More Circles for You

 I hope everyone is having fun with circles for this challenge.  If you haven't joined in, maybe the sample designs will start the creativity flowing.

body I actually got a chance to use a new technique before the newsletter arrived. I am the guest designer at Stampotique for the month of August and for my first card I used the collaged circles for the background. I did add some gold webbing. You can see the card with more detail on my BLOG

Let's Go Circling

How many circles can you add to a card? The answer has to be: a lot. I used an A6 white slightly textured card as base and layered it with digital paper from Crystal's and Kraftpaper from Pink Petticoat. As next step I stamped a whole stamp sheet from Crafty Individuals on to the Kraftpaper. After deciding where my circle cutouts would go I started to cut out circles in various sizes along the line I had drawn on the Kraftpaper. The little stamped images within the circles are from Penny Black. For the biggest raised circle I used one very fitting sentiment image from our sponsor this month 'Create with TLC': What Goes Around, Comes Around and finished it with a little stamped circle from Waltzing Mouse and a little bling.

Yes, I love having fun with circles. This card represents summer vacation! The background for this card is my take on the "embellished circles" technique from Technique Junkies. My circle-spiral flower stamps are from Connor's Collectibles. The little circle stamp (in yellow) with the sun face is from Rogue Redhead. The red flower is from Hero Arts. The vintage image of the lady with her travel trunk is from Altered Artifacts. At the top left is a circle that says "summer" -- from our challenge sponsor TLC Creations! It is placed on a little yellow paper flower. I hope you have some happy summer travel planned and I hope you are inspired to enter this challenge!

Paper Piecing

I knew the minute I got this stamp from Artistic Outpost that I wanted to do some paper piecing on it.  This is a card I sent to my Just One partner this month.  Both stamps are from Artistic Outpost.

Here are four more Scraplings I did for the Gingersnap Creations swap.  The first one on the left has a 3D Clown from Artistic Outpost,  The second has digital images from Twisted Papers and the tihrd scrapling has an image of a lighthouse by Stamp Craft..  The final scrapling has a rose image from.All Night's Media.

Back to School

Well, it is that time this year - all the kids are going back to school.  I felt a little left out the other day when I was at Wal-mart and I didn't have any school supplies to buy.  In order to feel part of the crowd I bought a new day planner!   "Here is an arch I made for the Gothic Arches'  " Back to School" theme.  Can't you see this little schoolgirl  puzzling over  the "new math"?  Of course, her new math was a great deal different from the new math of today.

For my arch I began with a piece of cardstock on which I did TJ Bleach Swipe technique.  The schoolgirl image is from Graphics Fairy and the numbers she is working out are from a stamp by Artistic Outpost.

Scraplings-First Pair

This is my first pair of Scraplings.  Gingersnap Creations has an art swap this month of Scraplings.  I have never made any of these before.  The first is my entry for the Sunshine theme of Gingersnaps Creations that ends today.  The second uses a stamp from Artistic Outpost..

New Tool

I have finally tried out my new tool - an airbrushing gun.  I used three colors of Copic markers,  I'm please with my first attempt.  This is an adaption of the Whimsey Copic Background.  I couldn't locate my white pen so I stamped in cranberry ink for accent.  The background is a Hampton Arts stamp  The main stamp  (women) is from Artistic Outpost.   The greeting is from an old unknown stamp.

Faux Etched Copper

This is one of my favorite recently-learned techniques.  The technique is one of the featured techs in this month's Technique Junkies Newsletter.   If you haven't tried it, you must as it is easy and loads of fun.  I could spend all day working with my copper and each time the copper would look different.  I have uploaded one example here using Artistic Outpost stampsn on the faux etched copper background..

Here is a second card I made with the same technique.  I like not putting anything on the background.

A Busy Card

Here is a card I made for a challenge, but I didn't get aeround to scanning and posting it in time for the challenge.  I used Faux Designer Paper technique for the background behind the Artistic Outpost stamp.  I got a little carried away with this card.  The tabs on the side were from a scrapbooking embellishment package.  When I first got them I thought that I would never use the tabs.  However, I like the way they set off the image.  The strips were cut thin at the bottom of the card.  Can you tell what they are from?
