I love working with black and white.  My musical card's image is from Stitchy Bear Outlet.  Even though my theme wording is "Jazz" your entry may be anything musical.

For the second week of All that jazz, I created a journal page and made a card with it for a good friend . I used my acrylics, a paste for texture, rubber stamps and some stencils. The guitar silhouette was kindly provided by our sponsor Stitchy Bear stamps and the quote is from the internet. I also adorned it with a couple of flowers, a black ribbon and some others stickers. I am having fun with this challenge. I made another largely digital creation for this week. The background is digital paper from McMahon Five to which I digitally added the horn player and drum set from Stitchy Bear's All That Jazz digital stamp set. I also included the words "All That Jazz" also from Stitchy Bear. I added some border that made me think of stage lights and some musical notes to complete this card. I hope you will join the challenge!

For my second All That Jazz post I have made a CAS card using the grand piano and added my own sentiment. Perfect for the piano teacher!

I've used some sheet music that I found on the internet and created my card digitally in Microsoft Picture It, adding digital images taken from Jazz Band, kindly supplied by Stitchy Bear's digi outlet, together with a quote by Duke Ellington - all created digitally.

Challenge #92, All That Jazz!

We are excited to start a new two week challenge featuring "All That Jazz" and all things musical!  As usual the design team has all kinds of creative inspiration to get you started.

My card made me remember all the dances I went to while I was in high schoo.  The main image is from my sponsor, Stitchy Bear and the pennants are from Gecko Galz.  At my dances we usually had pennants hanging around the walls.

Do you love music? I do.  So I love this two week theme.  For my card I worked with musical instrument digital images generously provided by our challenge sponsor Sticthy Bear stamps and combined them with images in my stash from FrenchKissed postcards (FKP).  The background paper is a digital background by FKP. I digitally added the harp and grand piano, from the "all that jazz" collection.  I then added my cut out vintage lady, also by FKP  My lovely chanteuse is surrounded by butterflies from my stash.

For the first week of “All that jazz”, I’ve created a card using a silhouette kindly provided by our sponsor Stitchy Bear Stamps. It is a sax: an instrument that I really love.I adorned it some crystals, some flowers, bows and an immortal quote which was found on the net. The papers are from Brazilian designers. The man playing sax is from my stash. I thought I’d never use that sticker but the opportunity presented itself. Have a magical week and keep playing along with us!

I have used this fabulous image of a drum kit for my card today and as it is silhouette, I have kept the colour palette simple.  The digi is available from Stitchy bear outlet.

Are you a "Yellow" person?  That is the color I am featuring on the Lunagirl Moonbeams site.  You don't have to use yellow.  You are asked to create something with your favorite color.

 

This is a sympathy card I made recently for a friend using a Lunagirl image.

More Cards for Men

We are on the second week of "Cards for Men".  Go to the short at the top of my sidebar and put in an entry.

I needed to make a number of cards quickly for some men who had been in the hospital.  This is what I came up with.  I made about ten in 45 minutes so I am ready to send them through the mail tomorrow.  The image and sentiment were from Sentimental Susan on the Stitchy Bear Outlet website.   I left the image uncolored as that takes time and I wanted  very plain cards for the men.

This card is very simple.All the papers used are card stocks. Since it is a card for man I decided to use hues of green and blue The sentiment is from Sentimental Susan on Stitchy Bear Outlet site - our sponsor and the image is an old painting by Harold Knight (1910). For week two I've created a card featuring products from our sponsor Sentimental Susan at Stitchy Bear Digital Outlet and from Dezinaworld.  Parts of this card were created digitally.  I started with the vintage image from Dezinaworld and added the sentiment and stack of books on a white background, both from Sentimental Susan. i also added the monocle and compass (Dezinaworld) digitally.  After printing my little digital collage, I added it to cardstock covered with designer paper.  To that I added a fleur de lis brad by Alphastamps and the phrase "noteworthy" which I found in my stash.  All elements were distressed with "old paper" distress ink

This is the second week in the For a man challenge at The Cheerful Stamp Pad.   This great slogan comes from Sentimetal Susan and is available at Stitchy Bear Outlet.   I have team the digital sentiment with a Daisy Trail digikit called Swirling Memories.   I really love the effect of the lamp post shadow.

Very similar to the card I made for week 1, this time using Stitchy Bear's Digi Outlet 'BSA silhouette' by Sentimental Susan, this time printing the sentiment at the same time as the bike, on to the print out from a google map.

When I saw this image frlwom sentimental  Susan at the Stitchy Bear Digi Outlet I knew it would be my hubby's birthday card.  We both rode motorcycles for years and it was fun. I just left it as I printed it from the computer and cut it with my ovals and added some silver brads,. The sentiment is also from Sentimental Susan as is what is on the inside. (Note from me, Vicki)  Please keep Barb in your prayers as she is going through some difficulties with her vision.  I think this card is beautiful and I miss her work when her vision keeps her from creating.

Looking Toward the East

Here is a card using La Isla Bonita paper and Gecko Galz image from the Asian collection. Behind the card is an envelope to match. The flower was made by taking a couple of artificial flowers apart and layering them. The two flowers ended up making a nice flower for my card.

Tea Time

It is not too late to enter the "Tea Time" challenge at Gecko Galz.  But hurry as it will end this weekend.   You will find the challenge listed under photos on the Gecko Galz Facebook page.   Here is a Tea Box I made for the challenge.

The tea box will hold a number of tea bags.  It is adorned with a number of tea -related stamps from Gecko Galz and the top has some roses that I made along with leaves and four rhinestones giving it a little bling.

What is your favorite color?

Your Favorite Color is the theme for the challenge of the Lunagirl Moonbeams the next two weeks.  So pick your favorite color (if you can) and create an entry with that color as the main color of your project. 

I decided that Yellow would be my favorite color for this time.  My favorite seems to change with my moods.  Therefore I thought I would be "cheerful" with yellow.  Below is my first creation for the challenge.

This is a flip card using a Lunagirl image from the yellow collage sheet.

Guys Like Getting Cards Too

Guys like getting cards too so let's switch gears and make "A Card for a Man".  That is the challenge the next two weeks.  Let's see what the gals on the Design Team made.

This card for man was very simple to make.  It is a gate card opening at the center and the image going  to the left..  The background looks like tire tracks and the image is from Sentimental Susan on Stitchy Bear Outlet site.  Keeping in mind that it is a card for a man, I did not any embellishment at all.

A clean and simple card made with a print out from a google map which I then ran through the printer again to add the Stitchy Bear's Digi Outlet 'BSA bike' by Sentimental Susan (our sponsor).I then added the computer generated sentiment mounted on a scrap of blue card.

Other than the "Route 66" stamp by Inkadinkado, this was a digitally created card.  The gorgeous motorcycle digital image is by designer Sentimental Susan and is offered by our generous sponsor Stitchy Bear.  I added the motorcycle to digital background rainbow paper by McMahon 5 and added a third digital image, the "happy birthday" sentiment by Clear Dollar digital stamps.  Most of my early dates with my husband were on his motorcycle so I made this card for his birthday.

I have made this card today using a digistamp from Sentimental Susan  - available at the Stitchy bear outlet.  I have used stash from Kanabn's McKenzie and Stampunk ranges to collate the card and the beautiful acetate overlay is from Hunkydory.

Hot Weather Means Going to the Beach

Don't forget that Lunagirl Moonbeams are still enjoying the summer with a "Bathing Beauties" challenge.

 

This piece of cardstock has been lying on my work table forever and I was tired of moving it around so I decided the best thing to do with it is use it.  I am not sure how I made this background.  I just know it started out as a piece of red cardstock.  I know, it is hard to believe!   If you look closely, you will see a hint of red.

 

Below you will see what I made with a piece of it.  At least there is not quite as much to move around until I can use the rest.  Yes, I am sure, at least I hope, not the only one who saves all the leftovers from a project.

 

The sand was made with a piece of tan cardstock stenciled with a little brown ink.  And, of course, the image is from Lunagirl!

 

Use a Digital Background

This is the second week of the challenge "Use a Digital Background".  Below are some examples of using digital backgrounds created by members of the Design Team.

My background is from the Retro Flower package by Coosty Creations which can be found on my sponsor's site Stitchy Bear.  My image is this cute Zen owl from Gecko Galz.  The sentiment is "Words of Wisdom", a sticker.

I am using another digistamp that comes with matching backing papers today.  I used Promarkers to colour the penguin and Easel on the topper and added the slogan using Serif Craft Artist 2.  The digistamp and Papers are available from Coosty Creations - available at the Stitchy bear outlet.

For Week 2 of the Background challenge I made a card using a digikit called Coffee. The kit is by Coosty Creations and is available at the Stitchy bear outlet. The image is from an old French poster. Keep playing along with us and have a magicak week!

I love the digital backgrounds created by Coosty Creations and generously provided to our DT by Stitchy Bear.  This week I chose papers from the Penguin series.  I took one of CC's penguin digi stamps and digitally added it to some cool icy blue background design also by CC.  The penguin is painting a picture so I digitally cropped some of the penguin digital background paper and place it on the easel.  After printing my digital creation I added a border and a penguin stamp to act as the "model."  I confess this creation really makes me grin.  I hope you will link up a digital background creation of your own for our challenge!

Once again my card was completely created digitally, this week using images and background papers from Digi Bear's Digi Outlet's Coosty Creations orchid beauty pack, kindly supplied by the sponsors. I added the image of the orchids with a candle floating on water with a reflection, changing the size and colour to tone with the background.

Week 2 of the Backgrounds challenge I used the Orchid background paper and made a very simple card so the paper is the star. I did print the fower to use but unfortunately my vision at this time wouldn't allow me to colour it. It was beautiful too.Celebrate is from Stampin'up and the sparkl buttons from the dollar store.
