Hot Weather Means Going to the Beach

Don't forget that Lunagirl Moonbeams are still enjoying the summer with a "Bathing Beauties" challenge.

This piece of cardstock has been lying on my work table forever and I was tired of moving it around so I decided the best thing to do with it is use it.  I am not sure how I made this background.  I just know it started out as a piece of red cardstock.  I know, it is hard to believe!   If you look closely, you will see a hint of red.

Below you will see what I made with a piece of it.  At least there is not quite as much to move around until I can use the rest.  Yes, I am sure, at least I hope, not the only one who saves all the leftovers from a project.

The sand was made with a piece of tan cardstock stenciled with a little brown ink.  And, of course, the image is from Lunagirl!

Use a Digital Background

This is the second week of the challenge "Use a Digital Background".  Below are some examples of using digital backgrounds created by members of the Design Team.
Vicki
My background is from the Retro Flower package by Coosty Creations which can be found on my sponsor's site Stitchy Bear.  My image is this cute Zen owl from Gecko Galz.  The sentiment is "Words of Wisdom", a sticker.

Leona
I am using another digistamp that comes with matching backing papers today.  I used Promarkers to colour the penguin and Easel on the topper and added the slogan using Serif Craft Artist 2.  The digistamp and Papers are available from Coosty Creations - available at the Stitchy bear outlet.
Karla
For Week 2 of the Background challenge I made a card using a digikit called Coffee. The kit is by Coosty Creations and is available at the Stitchy bear outlet. The image is from an old French poster. Keep playing along with us and have a magicak week!
Michele
I love the digital backgrounds created by Coosty Creations and generously provided to our DT by Stitchy Bear.  This week I chose papers from the Penguin series.  I took one of CC's penguin digi stamps and digitally added it to some cool icy blue background design also by CC.  The penguin is painting a picture so I digitally cropped some of the penguin digital background paper and place it on the easel.  After printing my digital creation I added a border and a penguin stamp to act as the "model."  I confess this creation really makes me grin.  I hope you will link up a digital background creation of your own for our challenge!

Hazel
Once again my card was completely created digitally, this week using images and background papers from Digi Bear's Digi Outlet's Coosty Creations orchid beauty pack, kindly supplied by the sponsors. I added the image of the orchids with a candle floating on water with a reflection, changing the size and colour to tone with the background.

 Barbara
Week 2 of the Backgrounds challenge I used the Orchid background paper and made a very simple card so the paper is the star. I did print the fower to use but unfortunately my vision at this time wouldn't allow me to colour it. It was beautiful too.Celebrate is from Stampin'up and the sparkl buttons from the dollar store.

Drop in onto Stitchy Bear Outlet's site and see all the background digital stamps by Coosty Creations.

Challenge #90-"Use a Digital Background"

This challenge theme calls for you to use a digital background.
Vicki
This card has a beautify digital  background  from the Coffee digital package by Coosty Creations found on Stitchy Bear Outlet.  The image is from Gecko Galz and I  think this makes a perfect card for a man.   Some bling stickers add an ornate touch and the sentiment is a K and Company sticker.
Michele
Coosty Creations has some fabulous digital background papers and I had a ball working with two different papers on the coffee theme which were generously supplied by Stitchy Bear Digital Outlet.  The mug is from one digital background but I cut it out to use with the coffee beans digital background.  I have a lady stamp from Silver Crow Creations leaping into that wonderful cup of coffee and I thought the washi tape that said "rue de chocolate" on it was a perfect complement because who doesn't like to enjoy coffee and chocolate together?  The word "heaven" is also from Coosty Creations.
Karla
I used a digital degrade paper and an adorable image from Coosty Creations. The kit is called Orchid Beauty and it was kindly provided by our sponsor  Stitchy Bear. The papers are gorgeous and they can be used in many different projects. I colored my orchid digitally and added some pearls  and a lovely sentiment. I must confess I am in love with my card. I made it for my niece. Hope she likes it too. Have a magical week and keep playing along with us!
Leona Roberts
I am delighted to be joining the DT for the next couple of months.  I have a tag to share today, made using a digikit and digistamp flower called Retro Flower.  The kit is by Coosty Creations and is available at the Stitchy bear outlet.
Barbara
For Week 1 of the Background challenge I chose the giraffe background paper. I layered it on Early Expresso and added it to a base of Dusty Durango. Likewise layered the giraffe (which is from Stampin'up retired set called In the wild.) with early expresso and dusty durang. of course I didn't have any brwon ribbon with me so I just added a scrap of brown caardstock with the bg paper on it and a button. The Happy Birthday is a gold sticker.
Hazel
My card was completely created digitally using images and background papers from Digi Bear's Digi Outlet's Coosty Creations coffee pack. Although I love papers, embellishments, etc, I sometimes like working with digital components, changing sizes and moving around until I've got the desired effect, so I really enjoyed working with these papers and images.

Thank you to Coosty Creations for sponsoring this challenge.  This designer can be found on Stitchy Bear Outlet.

Second Week of Challenge

This is the beginning of the second week of my challenge "Weekend Activities".  The Design Team looks forward to seeing what you create.  Look at the top of my sidebar for the shortcut to my challenges and you may enter as many as two entries.

Here is what the Design Tram created for inspiration.
Vicki
My image is called "Do You Want to Play?".. it is a BB Kakes images found on the Stitchy Bear Outlet site.  I think this is such a cute image.
Hazel
I used the BB Kakes 'stitcher fae' image, kindly supplied by Stitchy Bear's Digi Outlet, the sponsor of the challenge. I coloured this with spectrum noir pens, adding Art Institute glitter to her wings. I cut out the image using a Spellbinder marvellous squares die, brushing the edges with peacock feathers distress ink. The main background paper is an old piece of Daisy Bucket and the torn strip is from American Crafts 'amy tangerine' plus one paper pad that I recently bought with a prize voucher. The added 3D embellishments were from an Express Yourself DIY pack
Michele
This very darling digital image from digi designer BB Kakes, provided by our wonderful sponsor Stitchy Bear Digitals is both experiencing the heat of summer and is herself quite a hottie.  I kept my design simple and layered a nice die cut on complementary card stock.  I added a sun and the word that i think describes this situation to a T.  I colored the digi with pencils. I have to admit I can identify with the idea of getting overheated!  You have one more week to share your weekend activities creation -- and hopefully you are not too hot!
Karla
For the second week of  “Weekend Activities"-Stitchy Bear (BB Kakes),I made a card using an image called “Want to play” and it is so cute. I layered it on a light pink cardstock  and added some flowers, a lovely sentiment and a decorative adhesive paper tape. The effect was amazing.Have a magical week!
Barbara
My image is from Stitchy Bear BB Kakes and it's called  Let's Play. Coloured with a combination of Copics and Spectrum Noir markers. I seemed to have made my image faily large, probably to be able to colour it better. I was at Wal-mart last night and couldn't resist the 6 X 6 patterned cardstock pack, not paper it was a good weight. Because there was some gray in the kpattern I decided to use it as and accent colour.along with the prink. Stop by my blog and  have a peek at the inside.

Challenge #89-"Weekend Activities"

I hope everyone will find this an enjoyable challenge.  It is "Weekend Activities".  What does this mean?  Well, you can post anything that shows what you might be doing over the weekend.  It can be some type of work or play.  Let your imagination flow.  There should be plenty of images around that would reflect this.

In showing the Design Team's pieces of inspiration, we will begin with my Guest Designer Leona Roberts.

This is the second week that I have been asked to contribute to The Cheerful Stamp Pad.  Today I have made a card using a digi from BB Kakes.  It is called bb-watering boy and is also available in a girl version.  he papers I have used are called Mac mini prints by Bazzill Basics Papers.   I have coloured the image using Promarkers. I have mounted my design onto a Hunkydory shaped card.

Vicki

This is really a "cool" image by BBKakes which can be found on the Stitchy Bear Outlet.  Since this was such a cute image, I decided to put it on some polka dot designer cardstock.  The sentiment is one I found in my stash.  This is what I wish I had been doing this past weekend with the temperature in TN reaching 94 degrees.
Karla
For the first week of Weekend Activities"-Stitchy Bear (BB Kakes),I decided to use the lovely image called  ”girl watering the garden”  graciously provided to us by our challenge sponsor BB Kakes.  All the weekend activities images from Stitchy Bear outlet are adorable. I wanted to do something different so I created a simple art journal background paper using sprays .Then I layered my cute girl on a navy blue cardstock after coloring it digitally. After that I adorned my card with some  dimensional  flowers  stickers, a pink ribbon and a cute sentiment that expresses how I feel about Spring. Today, Winter starts here in Brazil and I love how Mother Nature always presents us with so many beauties and wonders. Have a magical week and keep playing along with us. We love your work. They are a feast for our  eyes!

One weekend activity many people enjoy is gardening.  I mostly like to just think about gardening!  But this little gardener digi by designer BB Kakes sold by Stitchy Bear is such a cutie patootie that I had to make something with her.  I colored her with pencils, cut her out and set her up with some sky paper and flowers and vines and birds.  This makes for a happy scene!
Hazel
I based my card on the sketch given here (more details on my blog). Papers are from Spring and Summer pads from Create and Craft. The image is one kindly given by the sponsor, Stitchy Bear's digi outlet 'BB Kakes girl watering', coloured with spectrum noir alcohol pens, with the addition of some gems.

Second Week of "Fruits and Veggies" Challenge

We are entering the second week of the "Fruits and Veggies" Challenge on The Cheerful Stamp Pad. I hope more of you will enter sometime during this coming week.  You have until Sunday at midnight CDT.  Remember you entry does not have to be a card.
Vicki
I just love this Strawberry image from Scraper's Delights.  This is only one of the many designers on the Stitchy Bear Outlet site.  I used a couple of scrap designer papers and some embellishment from K and Co.
Barbara
For the second week of the challenge I decided to use the cute little watermelon girl, she is so sweet, all the fruit images from Stitchy Bear outlet are so cute. I went to Splitcoast Stampers and checked out their colour challenges to see what went with Cameo coral which is retired and found out Bermuda Bay looks awesome with it. The ribbon is from Len's Mills store, bought by the metre or yard .I used the Sizzix tulip border embossing folder to frame the image.
Michele
For the second week I used Fruity Babies-Citrus from Scrappers Delight, graciously provided to us by our challenge sponsor Stitchy Bear  I love this image.  I colored it with pencils, cut it out and arranged it with some pretty papers and washi tape.  I love the summer feel of it.  I hope you will join the challenge!
Karla
These fruity babies by Scrapper's Delight at Stitchy Bear are lovely! I colored mine digitally and layered my raspberry baby on two different cardstocks. I love bold colors! Then I adorned it with some crystals, three fabric red roses and an adorable sentiment. Have a super week and keep playing along with us!
Hazel
I continued the strip on to the back of the card:
and I decorated the inside

Papers are DCWV 'summer' (I've had them a long time). The image is Stitchy Bears Scrappers-delights 'fruity babies watermelon' coloured with spectrum noir pens and mounted on to green mirror card.

Thanks to Stitchy Bear for sponsoring.
