Lunagirl's Second Week of Challenge

Lunagirl Moonbeams is still having the challenge "Showgirls".  This is my inspirational card.  It is a very simple card, a lovely Lunagirl showgirl and a big orange bow!

Challenge #83- "Add Some Flowers"

This challenge is a little different so read the description carefully.  You are to "add" flowers in some way to your project.  The image itself should not be a flower image.  What kind of flowers can you add?  Well, it really doesn't matter.  They can be paper ones that you put together yourself, some you bought, felt ones   (or any other fabric), plastic. or like mine flower eyelets.  You have plenty of   options.  Just make sure that your image is not flowers.  I have an upcoming challenge in which you can use your flower images.

Let's see what kind of flowers the Design Team used.

My card uses this cute little bunny from Bugaboo Digi Stamps.  I used little blue cardstock for my mat and embossed it with the Dottie Swiss  embossing folder   My flowers are actually eyelets,  I glue little shiny pearls on top of the holds to give them a little bling.  The bunny was fussy cut so some of the while would show,

When I saw this hummingbird digi from our challenge sponsor Bugaboo I fell in love with it.  I also thought a hummingbird would be a perfect image to "add some flowers" to!  I printed the hummingbird onto background paper from TLC Creations and then added my flowers, brads, and other goodies.

I used one of the freebies from our sponsor Bugaboo for the first week of our “Add some flowers”. It is the charming Button Bear. It was printed and hand colored. The sentiment was computer generated and I decided to adorn my card with a purple butterfly and different kinds of flowers. After all, it is Spring: the season of flowers and butterflies. Here in my country, we are enjoying Fall. What a blessing nature is!

The image I used is from Bugaboo and called Girl with Flowers. I used my favourite colour....Purple, I haven't used it in a while. The image was coloured with my spectrum noir and copics (skin) The embossing folder is Argyle by cuttlebug. ribbon from the dollar store and the flowers from a yard sale.

I used  'bug jar caterpillar' by Bugaboo Stamps', colouring digitally in Paint and adding the text. The background was created with some patterned paper and acrylic paint and stencils using my gelli plate.There are strips of washi tape and ribbon down the side, although most of this is covered by the Craftime flowers

She is quite a lady her button dress is just fabulous! This is an image from our sponsor Bugaboo coloured with Copics. It sits on a little tag stamped with buttons.

Combining Two Forms of Art

I know if you received this card, you would wonder about me.  I have combine two forms of art in the card below by using my Gelli-made cardstock into a card.  I am really pleased even though it is a little on the wild side. I finally had a chance to use one of my Stabilo pens.  By outlining the flowers it made the flowers in the background appear on top.  A little ribbon and a small bow finished the card.

Forgot to Post

Here is a card I made not too long ago for Lunagirl, but somehow I forgot to post it on my own blog.

The Lunagirl image is of three women.  I used a burgundy colored base card with beige designer paper on it.  The matting of the image is green to make the little bit of green in the image pop.  A final embellishment of a wide ribbon that has a lacey edge was placed at the bottom accented with a burgundy bow to match the colors in the image.

Lunagirl Moonbeams Showcase Showgirls

Lunagirl Moonbeams are showcasing "Sassy Showgirls" in their challenge this week.  This is really a fun challenge. 

This is my inspirational piece of what I call Vintage Rockettes!  The printed background out of designer paper has two glittery flourishes which hold back the paper curtain.  The blue at the bottom acts as the stage and a wire / mesh ribbon accents the card.

Transportation Challenge

We are on the second week of "Modes of Transportation" using the beautiful transporttion images from Lunagirl.  Don't forget to look at the top of my sidebar for the shortcut to my challenges.  It is usually changed the next day after the new challenge begins as I usually post late at night.

I used one of the vintage car images from Lunagirl and placed it inside a ornate oval diecut from Cheery Lynn dies.  To bring out the color in the car a bow was added.

This vintage bicyclist from our challenge sponsor Lunagirl has been traveling all over Europe on her bike and she is none the worse for the wear!  A bicycle is a great way to get around, excellent for physical fitness and for the environment!  Enjoy.

I fell in love with the little girl in a red car from our sponsor Lunagirl Moonbeams as soon as I saw the image. I tried to create a romantic card because she is so cute.I’ve embellished it with some buttons, a ribbon and a white eyelet ruffled fabric trim. I also used 3 different kinds of paper. Hope you like it. Keep playing along with us. I love visiting your blogs.

For the second week of the modes of transportation I used another Luna Girl image. I also made another Artist Trading Card. The image was layered on a scrap of shiny red paper then on some black glitter cardstock I found on my desk, it was an extra from an ATC swap. I added the rhinestones to the side for some bling.

I used Lunagirl Transportation (7) image, giving it an antique look digitally before layering it on to some unknown paper that I've had in my stash for a while. I've added bits and pieces from various sources, including Teresa Collins and K & Co. I enjoyed putting this card together.

Spring Music

Spring Music is what I call this Gelli paper as the background is a piece of music which I printed on cardstock and then used as a base for my acrylics.  You have to look closely to see the music.

"Shabby Green" Continues at Lunagirl

The green color theme continues at Lunagirl and this is my card for it.   I used a green base card and added various shades of green cardstock.  Also I added a piece of homemade paper that I made about two years ago.  The image is by Lunagirl and I added a couple of stickers, a duckling and a small chick on top of the image.  Finishing the card is a small bow left over from Christmas.



Challenge #82 - "Modes of Transportation"

Thank you everyone for entering my last challenge "Anything Goes".  I had quite a few entering this time.  I hope you enjoyed entering what you were in the mood to make.  This time the challenge is "Modes of Transportation".   The transportation can be real or it can be imaginary.

I made a collage on my card using some of my sponsor's, Lunagirl's, images.  I really like this blimp cycle.  I couldn't decide whether to put it on the street in front of the building or in the air.  I chose the air.  As an additional touch I used a diecut of a fence to give the card a little depth.

For the first week of the Modes of Transportation I used a Lunagirl vintage image of a train, I made an Artist Trading card which is 2 1/2 X 3 12 inches. The image was layered on gold and then on green. I added some gold cord to look like the track. Liquid pearls was added to give dimension to the smoke.

It is a curious way to travel but it looks like fun!  I've made an ATC featuring a fun image from Lunagirl, our challenge sponsor.  I've embellished with designer paper, a bit of map, a border and a bee!  Enjoy.

What a lovely day out, the Ladies seem to enjoy themselves .... I just wonder where they go .... my card is based on a inky stenciled background which I also sprayed with some chalky Glimmer Mist. I added a tag created from patternd papers, some lace, ribbon, a little button and bling. The wonderful vintage transportation image is from our sponsor Lunagirl Moonbeams.

For the first week of Modes of Transportation, I decided to include a vintage map. There are tons of old maps to print as well as a lot of tutorials to use them creatively on the internet. The lovely lady in red is an image from our sponsor Lunagirl Moonbeams. I also added some buttons, a fabric flower and a bias tape. The wordart is a courtesy of Kimbs Design.

I used Lunagirl's transportion (3), kindly supplied by the sponsor of this challenge, digitally changing to black and white and just digitally colouring the hat and flowers. I faded the edges of the picture and digitally mounted it on to the free Lunagirl postcard digital image. I added the digital postage stamp and the wording, including the fictional name and address, although Truelove is a real village in Devon apparently.

Lunagirl Moonbeams' Challenge

The Lunagirl Moonbeams are having a "Shabby Green" challenge.  It is the perfect challenge for the beginning of Spring.  All the creations from the Design Team have many shades of green on them.  Dig around in your stash and create something that is "Shabby Green" for Lunagirl.

Besides using different shades of green, I did do something a little different.  I cut the lacey part of the ribbon I had and used only the lace this time.

Second Week of "Anything Goes"

I love the "Anything Goes" challenge as it gives everyone to work with something they really enjoy or in the mood to do.  Only one week left and we have some great entries this time.  They are outstanding.  If you haven't joined in, please do so as the Design Team would love to see what you create.  Also, I would really love it if you became a follower.

Since this is a "Anything Goes" challenge (link to the original post on my sidebar) I am going to show what I used for my mat of my card.

A friend and I got together and worked with our acrylic paints on the Gelli Plate the first part of this week.  When you change colors, you try to clean your brayer a little on a piece of scrap paper so the colors won't be muddy.  Well, the above is mine.  I cut a part of it away and used it below on my card.

One would never realize that this was a "cleaning sheet" for my brayer.  As you can tell I don't throw anything away.  On top of the mat is one of my favorite Gecko Galz images along with a little lace.   The colors seem to match perfectly.  The wax seal of the dragon fly was something another friend gave me because she couldn't think of a use.

I matted this beautiful Easter image from Gecko Galz on to an offcut of striped paper. I covered the card blank with a piece of Raspberry Road Designs paper and simply added two golden yellow flowers that were left from a pack that I bought years ago from Early Learning Centre (how I wish they had continued to stock them).

I had fun creating this card for the second week of Anything Goes. I was feeling kinda romantic so I decided to use pink which is a lovely color. The image is from our sponsor Gecko Galz and it was layered on a floral background. I combined it with two different ribbons I had bought some time ago and some flowers. I love mixing things. The effect is always amazing. A  floral heart was layered behind the sentiment which was adorned by a small flower. Why Precious? Because we all are precious and sacred.

I love working with images from our sponsor Gecko Galz. I used background paper and images from 2 different collage sheets to make this fantasy card.  The "dream" stamp is from Inkadinkado and the border is from K and Company.

I used pink this week again for my card, the image is from our sponsor Gecko Galz and was a March freebie from their site. the script is left over from last weeks card. The layers were scraps as well as the dsp which is some very retired paper from stampin' up. Just did a bit of colouring with my spectrum noir and bic markers.

I have had this wonderful image from Gecko Galz in my drawer for a very long while. And now was the occasion to use it. I made a create with a slightly textured surface and combined it with a recycled tag, part of an old magazine page, lace, crochet flower, buttons and some other left-overs.
