Another Guest Designer and Challenge
This post will stay on top while the challenge is on-going. For more recent posts, scroll down.
The Cheerful Stamp Pad is thrilled to announce another Guest Designer. She is Barbara Washington. Barbara's sample is for the new challenge "Giving Thanks".
Barbara Washington
How exciting it is to be asked as a Guest Designer. I am a mother of two grown girls, 25 and 24. I have 2 grandchildren. My grandson) is 4 and my granddaughter 5 weeks. They all live with me. I early retired in 2002 and have never regretted it. I was a college librarian (and anything else they could add to my plate). I've lived in and around Chicago all of my life, except for the two years I was in the Peace Corps serving in the Philippines.I have been a crafter since I was a little girl, but of course the crafts have changed over the years. I have been a stamper for more than twelve years. I never considered myself an artist until I had been stamping awhile. Somewhere along the way I realized that it isn't drawing that makes one an artist; it is the creating. I get so much joy from working on various projects in my studio. I am presently on two other design teams. One is for Artistic Outpost, a stamp company. One is for Creative Inspirations, a shimmery paint product. And now I'll be working here with a challenge site. I am really enjoying what I'm doing and look forward to working with this team. I am on several Yahoo groups and also participate in a number of challenges each week.
This is a card I created for the Challenge 4 theme Giving Thanks. The background is done with the Antique Wallpaper technique from technique junkies. The sentiment is a stamp from Club Scrap. I love this saying because I think it is so meaningful. I can't wait to see what you come up with for this challenge.
Please link your entry befow. I would be appreciated if you were also a follower of this blog.

I am sure you will not be disappointed.Design Team
Recently I have had two Guest Designers, LaCretia Ogle (Krisha) and Barbara Washington. Both of them have agreed to come aboard as Team Members. . They will be posting anytime they feel in the mood and from now on they will help me choose the creation that best suits the challenges instead of using the random generator. They will also be helping me pick themes for future challenges. Please welcome them in the comment section as I am resally pleased to have them working with me.
Below are designs for Thanksgiving by the Design Team for The Cheerful Stamp Pad
I chose a wild turkey inage for my Thanksgiving card. The turkey image is by Inkadinkado and the greeting is by VAP Scrap. The tan background area uses the chalk lines technique. Inmages are colored with Copic markers.

It's exciting to be a part of this new Design Team. Here's a turkey card I created. Since Thanksgiving is coming upon us quickly, this handsome fella came by to wish you a Happy Harvest. All of the stamps used are from Kitchen Sink Stamps. I love how realistic the image looks. This look is created using the Kitchen Sink Stamp multi-step stamping system.

Clipped Corners
Clipped Corners is one of my favorite techniques. Here I have morphed the technique just a little. The card has some fall cherries waiting to be picked before the snow falls. The stamp is by CE Rubber Stamps. If you visit my site often you will notice that I like to leave the front of my cards void of a greeting. I really prefer to put my greeting only inside. Coloring was done with Copics.
Winner of Challenge #3
Congratulations
The winner of Challenge #3 "Autumn Leaves" is No. 5 picked by the random generator. That is Barbara Washington. She wins a packet of paper from Paper Temptress. Congrats to you, Barbara

Leaves Challenge and Giving Thanks
It's truly autumn now and the leaves have turned colors. Our focus now turns to Thanksgiving. My card actually fits both challenges that are presently running. The leaves challenge ends November 7. The Giving Thanks challenge ends November 14. The stamps I used are from Kitchen Sink Stamps. The background is pulled glimmers from the Jun/July 2010 Technique Junkies newsletter.
