I am thrilled to announce that The Cheerful Stamp Pad will have a Guest Designer for the next two weeks.  She is Julie Odil.  Her first project will be this weekend.  Give Julie a warm welcome by leaving comments and going to her blog

Guest Designer Julie Odil

Julie Odil

Hello everyone, my name is Julie, and I’m so excited to be a guest designer for The Cheerful Stamp Pad!  I absolutely love to stamp, and this fits my creative niche perfectly! I’ve always been creative – I play many instruments, like to write, and have been crafty my whole life.  I began scrapbooking about 8 years ago and cardmaking about 4 years ago, but things really took off when I began my blog just over 2 years ago.  It was a life changing experience.  I can’t believe how much fun I’ve had and how many friends I’ve made through my blog. I’d love it if you’d stop by for a visit: http://muddypawsinkyfingers.blogspot.com/
Here is a recent card I made that I really like and I am looking forward to participating with the other Design Team members the next two weeks.

Challenge #85-"Use Embossing Powder"

I thought we would switch gears a little and have a challenge on one of the staples in our supply cabinet.  This time the theme is "Use Embossing Powder".  In your description on your blog, make sure you tell us what you have embossed as sometimes it is difficult to tell in the pictures.  Please limit your entries to two.  Thanks.

Let's see what the Design Team embossed.
Vicki
My card is serving two purposes this time.  Of course it was created  for my challenge by using embossing powder on the sentiment.  However, it is also my sample for the Lunagirl challenge "Vintage Menagerie"  Spray webbing used for the mat and the elegant stickers give the card a vintage feel.

Hazel
One of my favourite stamps to use for sympathy cards is the Penny Black sparklers one that I've used here. I inked with Brilliance pearlescent purple, randomly stamping around the edge with just parts of the stamp, then using the whole stamp off centre. The sentiment stamp was from Hobbycraft. I used clear embossing powder to heat everywhere, then brushng in from the edges of the card and lightly over the main image with dusty concord distress ink.
Barbara
It's been a while stince I have had the chance to use embossing powder so this is a real treat for me to do this challenge. I used one of my favourite Christmas stamps from Stampendous. I stamped in versamark watermark and embossed in pewter embossing powder. The violet stardream paper was given to me in one of the swaps we used to have, layered it on silver recolledtions paper. It's hard to get a good picture with everything so shiny
Michele
Embossing is a wonderful way to make your stamped images stand out although that embossing powder sure can get things messy!  This is a stamped image and I am not sure of the company but I thought it had a nice spring feel so i added spring colors and elements to completed my card.
Petra
Embossing is such a versatile technique. I used it to create an inky background that is I stamped the little cars, ships and locomotives with VersaMark and heat embossed the stamping with clear embossing powder. Then I covered the card with distress inks, the embossing remained white.
The embossed and inked background is the background for a little simple boy tag. I just love the toy car with its driver!

I am so pleased to have Stamp On It as my sponsor for this challenge.  The online store has everything a stamping crafter could want.  The exciting thing about Stamp On It is that they bought PK Glitz which was noted for their fine embossing powders.  I have a number of the many colors and I love them.  Click on the banner above or on the link and go for a shopping visit.

Guest Designer Challenge

This is the second week for posting an entry to be a guest designer on my blog for two weeks.  Your entry must contain three designer papers / cardstock.  For a shortcut to the challenge look at the top of my sidebar and click on the challenge theme.

Please do not submit more than two entries.

Here are some inspirational pieces from the Design Team.
Vicki
I let my three designer papers act as color blocking with a lovely Gecko Galz image.
Hazel
My 5 x 7 card is based on the sketch given for the current Nightshift stamping challenge, using three offcuts of Hunkydory patterned card which were just right for the sketch. I stamped the DeNami glamour dress with stazon black - I used stazon as the card is shiny ... and then realised I wouldn't be able to use any alcohol pens, so I lightly coloured the dress with a colouring pencil and added some tiny gems for the necklace. I found other bits and pieces in my stash that were just right for the sketch, although I did add another Hobbycraft flower.
Karla
For the second week of our “Use Three Different Papers”, I chose a paper from Arthéa. She is a French Designer and hers is the one with the flowers. I also used a pink paper from Captivated Visions. It is lovely. And the green one is from Crafty Button Designs. The sentiment is from Toke e Crie as well as the paper used  on the top and at the bottom of my card. Toke e Crie is from Brazil. Keep on playing along with us and be our guest designer. Have a magical week beautiful people!

I made a tag to celebrate Easter. So Happy Easter everybody

.
Petra
Asimple little tag card made with three different papers (Authentique, K&Company and My Minds Eye) and a wooden button. The sentiment from Ludiec is stamped with Archival ink.
Wishing you all a very Happy Easter time!
Michele
I love this challenge of using 3 different papers!  It is fin picking out the papers and deciding how to make a cool background with them. In addition to my pretty coordinating papers I have a vintage image by Lunagirl, flowers, washi tape and a sticker sentiment.  I look forward to seeing which of you wonderful artists will be randomly selected to be our guest designer after this challe
Barbara
For Week 2 of the use 3 patterned papers on your project I tried a sunburst card, it wasn't too difficult but it was messy. I made it from scraps in my scrap box, evertying but the base was a scrap. The sentiment and decorative lable and punches are all from stampin'up as well as the border of embossed hearts. I thought they were dots until I put my glasses on.  I really liked making this and hope to try more.

Monochromatic Spring Card

http://justsomelinesblog.blogspot.com/2014/04/april-challenge-think-spring.htmlThis is a card I made for two challenges.  The first is a monochromatic card using ribbon for Really Reasonable Ribbon and the second is to make a Spring card for Just Some Lines.   This card uses a Just Some Lines image and a bow made of beautiful ribbon.  The flower is colored with Copic pens and has a yellow pearl center.

A Fair Indian Girl

"Fair Indian Girl" is what I call this page in my art journal.  Stencils are by Crafter's Workshop.  I also use my Gelli Plate here too.

Guest Designer

Hello everyone!  I am excited to say that I am one of the Guest Designers at Craftting by Design.  They are having a challenge now being sponsored by Lunagirl which lasts until April 25.  This is the card I posted.
I used one of the labels by Lunagirlk and printed it three times and cut it apart so I could put them in layers using dimensional dots.  The background was made with spray webbing.  Gold cording finishes the card.

Challenge #84- "Use Three Different Papers"

This challenge is a little different from my others.  To enter you must use three different designer papers / cardstock.  There is no theme; there are no particular images you have to use; and you may create anything you wish.  I am the sponsor this time.  The winner of this challenge will have a two-week Guest Designer Spot.  It is open to beginners as well as advance crafters.  So have fun.

Below are some creations of the Design Team.
Vicki
My card is also for the Lunagirl Moonbeams challenge, Victoria Spring, as it uses a Lunagirl image.
Karla
For the first week of Use Three Different Designer Papers" Guest Designer Spot", I used a salmon scrap paper from a Brazilian designer called Toke e Crie. I don’t know why it seems to be pink in the photo. I also used a green Victorian ornate pattern paper from Shabby Princess and the striped paper is from Kim Broedelet. The other elements are from my stash. My simple card is for my mother. It is her birthday. She’s going to be 72. You can see inside the card below. I haven’t written anything yet but guess what I will write. Have a great week ahead

Hazel
I based my card on the sketch given for Freshly made sketches 131 using three different design papers from my offcuts box (always trying to use some up) - I also matted the embossed panel on to a piece of patterned card, but that's so minimal that I haven't counted that in my three papers! I inked the Papermania Easter stamp with stazon cactus green and added a few daises - there are little embossed flowers on the panel, but I thought it would be good to have daisies to match the ones added to the sentiment stamp.
Barbara
For this challenge there isn't a sponsor but you could win a Guest Designer's spot for two weeks on the Cheerful Stamp Pad.The challenge is to use three patterned papers on your project. I used a Lacy Sunshine image Bubbles Bath, isn't she adorable in her daffodil bath tub. I used 4 designer papers, the base is Daffodil Delight and I used 4 because I wanted to use up a few scraps and make banners. I bought a few more copics at Scrapfest and wanted to play with them, I love turquoise and had to use it somewhere on my card. Talking  and asking questions of a "copic guru"at scrapfest Kitchener I learned quite a bit about copics and how they work so now it's just practice.

Michele
Lately I've been kind of obsessed with making ATCs and I liked the challenge of fitting three distinct designer papers on a small surface.  I picked bright and fun papers to highlight this delightful vintage lady clown image from Gecko Galz.
Petra
Papers from October Afternoon, Dovecraft and K&Company make a great combination for a card with the best wishes. A little girl from Birdie Brown coloured with Copics and colouring pensils, some half pearls and a stamped sentiment are the perfect additions.

This challenge is being sponsored by The Cheerful Stamp Pad and the winner of the challenge has a two-week Guest Designer Spot!

A Desire For Sunshine

I felt in the mood to really put some sunshine on an art journal page.  This is what I came up with....Sunburst with a Message.  On this page I used stencils from Crafter's Workshop and my acrylic paints.

This is a close-up of the message.

Second Week to Add Flowers

This is the second week for my challenge "Add Flowers".  The flowers should not be your main image. You are to add the flowers as an embellishment.  Let's see what the Design Team has made this week.
Vicki
I had bought some lovely flowers to use this week, but when I grabbed up some of my craft items to take out of town in our motorhome, guess what I forgot to pick up?  Well, I was determined to not let that goof up keep me from my posting this week,  I used a Stampin' Up stamp and punch and added a flower to my card with a Bugaboo image and a very busy flowered background.

Michele
Just in time for Easter I used a bunny and chick digital image from our challenge sponsor Bugaboo Images for my card this week. I used coordinating designer papers, a bit of border and of course I added some simple pretty flowers!  This is a great challenge for spring time and I'm so glad spring is finally arriving where I live.  I hope you'll play along.
Karla
For the second week of our “add some flowers”, I used an image from our sponsor Bugaboo. It is the Spring Bird and it has everything to do with the new season. I added a lace strip, some lovely flowers and the papers you can see are called Creative Papers. I don’t know if they can be found in U.S. Keep playing along with us and have a magical week!
Barbara
For the second week of the Add Flowers challenge I used a snow globe from Bugaboo Stamps.  I coloured with spectrum noir markers and coloured over the butterflies with Spica glitter pens. I used the tulip border embossing folder and some scrap patterned paper. I cut the globe and base out, covered the globe with a scrap of acrylic, flat attached it and popped the base up . I plan the sentiment on the base but not sure yet if it is Birthday, Get Well or Mother's day. Super image from the sponsor I love it, now I want a winter snow globe.
Petra
A Happy CupCake Flower Birthday card ... the sentiment is from our sponsor Bugaboo coloured with Copics. I layered it on patterned paper and added some lovely paper flowers and a little half-pearl

Below Hazel is showing various views of her lovely card.
Hazel
For my design card I used Penny Paisley 4 by Bugaboo Stamps (our sponsor) colouring the image digitally in Microsoft Paint. The added red hat is a My Sentiments Exactly stamp inked with fired brick distress ink. I matted the image on to a piece of card that had been dabbed all over with a 'shades of mauve' Blending Blox ink pad by Marvy. This was also used behind the printed poem (you can read the poem here). I used a variety of papers and flowers.

Again thanks goes to Bugaboo Digi Stamps.  I hope you give them a visit.

Spring is Coming

Spring is coming to Tennessee and Lunagirl and I am anxious to see it arrive.   I used the Rounded Corners technique on this card incorporating three of Lunagirl's images.  They all reflect Spring with images of little chicks.  In the fourth section has a green bow.  The sentiment is by Katie Hall and the flower is Stampin' Up.

I am entering this in Really Reasonable Ribbon. of using a ribbon and flower.

Lunagirl's Second Week of Challenge

Lunagirl Moonbeams is still having the challenge "Showgirls".  This is my inspirational card.  It is a very simple card, a lovely Lunagirl showgirl and a big orange bow!
